I thought that was the idea. For the first few weeks, only FC's can buy outright.A thought on the housing change: Will all housing purchases be limited to FCs for a period? Or will that only apply to the new wards? What will they do if it gets too flooded with private houses being relocated? New wards will get private houses (unlikely many/all tho), and the plots released in old wards may still be available for private purchase, with the effect being less plots actually available for FCs than anticipated.
But, I don't see relocation remaining open as a bad deal since it will still open plots up, just in old areas.
Suppose it remains to be seen how it's implemented. I was under the impression that the restriction may only apply to new wards, which may be problematic if private houses move in, and the vacant plots left behind are available for private purchase as well.
I'm not at all opposed to the relocation being open, just pointing out that if their reasoning for the restrictions is getting housing to the most players they can right now (as FC groups), they might not get as much as expected.
RIP MSQ roulette? I think not. If the tomes/hour and/or EXP/hour just equals what you achieve on average with everything else, it doesn't change anything, but sprouts finally can experience the grand final of 2.0 without all the jerks ruining it today.
I honestly have no hope that they would adjust the exp rate enough that people would do this roulette daily. Even then I could not see myself doing this daily if I always have to watch every single cutscene again and again..Tomes are probably not an incentive for a lot of veteran players because you already get a lot of poetics everywhere else.

Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
And why don't you? With the alliance raid roulette, they did (every time I was leveling it filled up to 70% of my exp bar, on a daily basis) so I don't understand why it would be any different here.I honestly have no hope that they would adjust the exp rate enough that people would do this roulette daily. People just like complaining, don't even know what the rewards entail and they are already losing their heads. Jeez!
"You have a heart of gold. Don't let them take it from you!"
The alliance roulette should not even take 30 minutes unlike the MSQ dungeons so the exp win for these MSQ dungeons need to be huge because you will probably be at least 45 minutes in there per dungeon..and unlike alliance where you fight all the time, these two dungeons are mostly just cutscenes and bosses that die fast. I just dont find it fun to be forced to watch the cutscene..I was running this a bit for new FC members and we did wait for them and let them watch cutscenes but at least the rest of us did not need to do that. Now we are forced to just click fast through those scenes.
They honestly need at least 1 or 2 new levels to make it at least a bit interesting.

Royal city of rabanastre will take longer than 30mins, that is being added into the roulette next patch (and will likely be the most played due to the token)
The key difference between Alliance Roulette and MSQ is only in the former am I actively participating. With MSQ, I'll basically have to AFK depending on if we can still rush through the gameplay. That alone deters me from queuing ever again. If I wanted to sit and watch Youtube videos for an hour, I wouldn't be queuing for a roulette. And why don't you? True..I was trying to get one of my friends to start playing the game with me. They were watching a dungeon. I hit skip on the cut scenes, they said "hey! you can't see the story?" I said "No people get mad, I've never seen what's in these except for what they show if you use the story journal in an inn or if I find it on youtube, you can't do that or they will leave you behind or kick you, I hit skip." No I won't want a game that's story orientated to skip all the cutscenes every dungeon because people can't wait long enough to let them play. And you've never seen them in an actual dungeon or raid yourself which means I'll NEVER see any of them." So that was the end of that. I shouldn't have let her watch the dungeon, I forgot about skip in trying to show her the graphics, large fights, exciting parts, of the game.
People don't care that much about it in normal dungeons. A first-timer in there watching the cutscenes isn't disruptive because it occurs literally twice: right at the beginning when you're still in the circle of waiting, and right before the last boss which is generally just a quick boss intro (the Stone Vigil one is pretty long). But in CM and Prae... holy crap there are a lot of them and they're all lengthy. That's the complaint here. Personally I don't mind if a new player wants to watch the cutscenes. I watched them. They're part of the story. But I don't think it's unreasonable for people to be frustrated with a 15 minute dungeon taking 45 minutes because of cutscenes.True..I was trying to get one of my friends to start playing the game with me.
