Eh? You think so?
Housing purchase will be restricted to free companies only in the next patch until they unlock them for personal purchase unfortunately.

Change to Plot Purchasing System - Updated! 01/19
Plots designated to free companies will be limited to purchase by free companies with at least 4 members.
Individuals will be restricted from purchasing personal plots for a limited time.
Only one FC plot and one personal plot may be purchased per world per service account.
Yoshida has stated these changes will not affect currently owned houses, just the purchase of plots moving forward.
Relocation will not be affected by the above restrictions (both fc and personal plots can be relocated to any available open plot regardless of purchase restrictions).
Oh no T_T
I really wanted a house![]()
Since the first round of houses will be FC only, I would take advantage of that. Use your seals and buy grand company things to sell, especially the portraits. Do some low level crafting recipes for houses. They don't need to be completed items, just parts, like varnish or straight up lumber. I think granite and limestone are used in a lot of housing recipes as well since you have miner leveled. Just check what materials are needed for some of the lower end housing supplies in the crafting log. Those parts will usually sell quicker that the finished product themselves.
I wish you luck.
Mortar is also /highly/ useful and it's a low level craft and gather for the parts. They sell for a pretty penny here on Balmung.Since the first round of houses will be FC only, I would take advantage of that. I would like to point out that the economies of Japanese servers are extremely different to those of other regions. I haven't checked Tonberry in particular, but from my knowledge, most Japanese servers basically have much lower prices than others. Because of this, much of the advice on here is probably misguided. Keep that in mind when you're taking advice, or giving it for those of you offering some.
As I haven't checked Tonberry specifically, I'm afraid I can't offer much. But things like adventurer in need is actually pretty nice for servers with low price economies.
...I haven't made millions from mortar at all. Nope...
Also, check housing npcs. They are scattered around but people forget about them and will often pay much more for an item that can be found cheaper. There's a housing npc in mordona that sells themed items. It will take money to buy them but you can make money back easily.
Right now on Tonberry, the highest selling VI Materia is going for 40kI would like to point out that the economies of Japanese servers are extremely different to those of other regions.
