I really encourage people to not give up and continue to check the city aetheryte shards early in the morning. Around 2:30AM Central a friend of mine found theirself a open medium plot in the Goblet on Balmung Janurary 20th

and Today around 8:20AM cst I just found myself a open small plot that I purchased. Being on Balmung I thought I'd never see the day of being able to own a home on this server. Every patch they released with homes always left me so depressed and sad because they would get ate up in minutes.

Anyway not trying to make this long winded! I'm just saying even on the most crowded servers still take the extra 5 minutes to port to all the cities and have a look!

I 100% agree with this! I was checking every day when I would play before going to bed just for a small house but had resolved myself that it would probably not happen anytime soon. Randomly last week on Behemoth, I checked Aetheryte in the middle of the hour around 830pm and a small in Lavender Beds was open. Right beside a Market Board and Retainer and with a waterfall in back yard and in front of me. Snatched it up immediately and love it! Don't lose hope! It can happen!

i wonder what time of day the housing demolition takes place? might start checking for a plot before i head to work in the morning at 5:30 eastern time.

When demolition is active (resuming again with 4.2), it happens on the hour, every hour.

But people giving up their plots/moving to other servers etc, happens all the time. From 4.2 though there will be a delay before you purchase the plot (even if it's empty), but people can relocate to it straight away. Presumably the plot they just gave up when they relocated would have a delay on it before it can be purchased too.

I don't really desire a house considering I own an apartment and that's enough for me lol. I'll pass this testimony on to those I know in game who want property and need this encouragement

There was a S house right behind my fc's house that opened up a while ago, and a friend of mine saw it, went to it and didn't have the funds on him. He placed most of his gil on a retainer, and he watched as someone else ran up moments later to the placard and bought it right in front of him. It became a fc house and I randomly went to check the placard today to see it is now a personal (with a different owner). I don't know if this person was a flipper or it got auto-demolished while the timer was active, but it was always set to private so it is hard to tell. :s

Thank you Roz! and as soon as i get it all decorated haha. Believe me this was a huge surprise it woke me up faster than coffee ever has. I was nervous rofl. and yes encourage others to keep looking as well!

Yes I agree people move off servers a lot and some are nice enough to just relinquish without trying to ask for a ton of gil in doing so. But the timer should be back on in 4.2 So that's not long

I managed to snag my fc house by camping the uldah aetheryte... now I'm looking for a more prime location...

Me and my waifu both have personal homes and 1 FC house. I found all 3 by simply doing what the OP has described taking 5 minutes a day too check my housing area.
