Mentor ratings

I'm not a frequent visitor here, so I hope this is the right place to post this.

I got back into the game a bit over half a year ago, and noticed a thing called 'mentor', which sounded like a good idea. Now I know, that it's the most horrible thing SE has done to the game, because most mentors act like little kids being given the power of a king.

Would it be possible to rate them after a dungeon or guildhest, like with commendations? Say, implement a 5 star rating system, and if a mentor has less than 2.5 stars, SE would have a look at the case. If rating 2 stars or less, give the rater the possibility to write a short comment about why the mentor was bad or something, for fairness sake.

Mentors are in most cases jerks who only want the crown, and they don't give 2 flying fudges about others, so please let us rate or report them in a quick and easy way. I love a good and helpful mentor, but they are so rare, and I don't think that's what SE had in mind.

Turn mentors into uber ratings? At least in uber, the driver can rate the rider as well.

It just opens another door for harrassment.

Honestly I feel like a lot of people would end up being spiteful and purposefully giving bad marks, because I mean, most people are.

While I agree it could indeed be a good idea...
I feel like being a mentor shouldn't be rated, cause some of them might want the rating before actually being a mentor and help people.
Yeah it's sad but I'm definitly sure it exists and could happen.
Besides, some people could give bad commend on purpose to lower their rank.

It's hard to find a good way to improve the mentor system because people act so differently that what was expected

plus people that double box to cheat their way to achievements would just artificially inflate mentor ratings if that were a thing.

Don't agree with this comment though. I'm a mentor too and during games I often suddenly get attacked that I should removed my mentor status and this when I never gave advice or no one ever asked for my help.. It's like people are looking for a reason to insult people with mentor status for no reason at all (maybe for the attention). However I do agree that mentor status should have multiple levels that improve with a certain form of recommendation once you give enough good advice to people.

Exactly this. It seems like the number of people claiming "I saw a mentor who was terrible\acted like they were WoL Jesus\just want #goldencrown lol" outnumbers the ACTUAL bad mentors in-game by at least 10 to 1.
