    Post your most memorable FFXIV memories here, I guess!

    Heeeey, first actual thread I've posted here. Please don't rip me to shreds!

    Anyways, not sure if this has been done before or not but I figured it would be cool to make a thread where people can share their most memorable experiences they've had while playing this lovely game. It can be anything, really; Raids, random encounters, FC stuff, anything! I just want to hear about some of the memories you all have made during your time here.

    I suppose I'll go first and say that mine was my first clear of A12S.

    Basically, it was the first savage raid I've ever done and I was honestly super nervous about it. The mechanics looked really intense and I was playing my Scholar, so there was a fair bit I had to do outside of dodging AoE and sacraments. It was also the first raid I've done with my lovely fiance, and he helped me through it quite a bit so; I viewed it as a bonding experience between me and him. We wiped quite a few times (Curse you, defamation and inception!) but... I think around the 5th or 6th time, we finally did it! My fiance (a DPS) was the last one standing with Alexander sitting at about 2% and he managed to limit break and win what should've been another failed attempt. After that, every other run we did with that group that night was successful and I managed to not only get the snazzy healer top, but the mount as well!

    So yeah. I guess that's why I consider A12S one of my most memorable experiences in this game, and why I like hopping into A12S glamour farms on my free time.

    The shutdown of 1.0 (the eve of the Calamity and the 'second' shutdown when the servers were temporarily reactivated for a month or so) - as utterly broken as 1.0 was, it was an experience to login on the last day with the "Time to Impact" counter edging ever closer to zero on the login screen and the ominous atmosphere in-game, with the errie Dalamud Answers replacing all zone BGM, the darkened stormy weather replacing all normal weather to the point there was no longer even an actual day/night cycle (the sky only lit by that huge bloated scarlet rock hovering above), the Garlean airships cruising menancingly above the citystates and the surrounding countryside, and the constant attacks by high level enemies on aetheryte camps and the cities themselves. And then, the end... booted back to the login screen with the login fields replaced by a link to Youtube for the 'End of an Era' trailer.... and then we had to wait seven months for ARR (or rather, if you were lucky you got a sneak peak in the Alpha and later on the Beta). It was an experience never to be repeated and I am glad I was there to do so.

    ARR has only built on that.

    My most memorable ARR moment though would probably be the end of ARR's 2.55 story in Ul'dah. Right in the feels.... And I was left wanting more. Wanting to wring Lolorito's skinny neck and beat Ilberd to a bloody pulp. Wanting to avenge the fallen Scions such as Minfilia and Raubahn and Nanamo. And wanting to clear Enki's name. I spent much of the time prior to HW's launch in Camp Dragonhead, rping my character impatiently waiting to be given asylum in Ishgard and vowing revenge against Loloritio and Ilberd for what they did. It still is my favourite part of ARR.

    The first Halloween in 2.0 back before glamour prisms existed.

    It came with a cost.

    I think my most memorable memory from this game is going into a 24 man and being fortunate enough to meet the most amazing group of people i've had the pleasure of meeting. All the alliances were making jokes and laughing making it one of the best runs I've ever done and have yet to experience any other like it. I truly wonder what they are doing now and I was honestly sad when the run came to an end as it meant that I more than likely will never see any of them ever again.

    I think my most memorable thing was the very first day. I played around for a bit in the character creator and ended up making a red-haired Lalafell named Rosie. I chose THM and got into Ul'dah, completely lost, having no idea how the map or anything else worked. An AST Roegadyn came to my rescue in the Quicksand and showed me the ropes, how to put everything where it needed to be, and how to navigate the map. I didn't know what AST was at the time, all I knew was that it looked so cool! He was really great and made an amazing first impression on me. Shortly after he invited me to the Novice Network which was also very friendly and helpful, and I think this is what made me end up staying. This was almost 2 years ago now, and I'm so happy I decided to stay. I've had some rough patches, but I have found a group of friends I consider my family, we formed an FC together, and it's just lovely to be around.

    To that AST Roegadyn that I can't remember the name of: Thank you for helping me that day. I'll always remember your kindness!

    Stepping off the boat into Limsa Lominsa for the very first time. Followed by running around the place getting completely lost >.>
    Before then finding my way to Baderon and trying to figure out what the fudge he was actually saying doing all the newbie quests :3

    Nest most memorable moment, was hitting level 30 for the first time and getting my very first Soul Crystal and Job :3
    It felt so cool to advance into this powerful Warrior with cool new skills!

    Entering Ishgard for the first time was also really cool, if slightly annoying (Since I wanted to try out DRK...) so getting to the quest where I could actually enter was super cool. Then finally entering the place... Then running around and getting completely lost >.>

    Entering Eureka for the first time. This place that was full of wonder and excitement about being interesting content... Then it ended up being memorable for all the wrong reasons ;_;
