Gsync and another problem in ffxiv (please work with nvidia square enix)

If you set ffxiv to use gsync you get

a lot of problems with sounds
    physics problems (camera shakes)
battle effects (the biggest problem of all): when gsync is on you lose a lot of fps, specially with higher resolution (gsync turned off and vertical sync on fixes this problem)

Btw these examples are with vertical sync off (and only gsync) as well as with both on.

I know people will ask for computer specs but instead of that why don't you try turning off gsync and see how your fps/response and fight physics feel when you only have vsync on. You will notice it, specially in big fights like in raids.

    Heya.

Your experiences are pretty strange, I do get the physics changes as well (earrings, wolf ears and such 'jiggle' faster than they should).

On the flipside tho, I run an X34A (3440x1440@100hz), G-Sync doesn't appear to impact my FPS in the slightest and it certainly doesn't cause any problems with sound that I've noticed. I've never run with both G-Sync and V-Sync enabled tho as that's ill advised afaik? If it's any help, I typically get 80-100fps depending on the scene and that's with a rather heavy reshade setup going on as well.

I've been using GSync for years now with this game and haven't had these problems. I wish you luck on figuring out the problem though. I guess my only question is are you using Fullscreen or Window mode or fullscreen window mode?

Just heads up, they already work with Nvidia.

But as poster above, I’ve not experienced the issues you listed either

do not know if it is related, but your power supply might be too small. I had a similar problem with sound and FPS with my new graphics card the other day when it was on full power, the fps and the sound got worse and worse with every minute, and changing the power supply fix that.

There's a graphics setting called Screen Space Ambient Occlusion that you may want to look into. If you are having framerate issues, try setting it to Light if it isn't already. It seems like HBAO for this setting hogs a lot of GPU resources.

It's a driver problem NVidia is having. Any driver past March 2018 has this issue, drivers prior to March 2018 don't. It's almost as thought hey are trying to force upgrade people.
