is there any reason to use "enmity" combo on drk?

It does less damage than the syphon strike+souleater, it doesnt heal us, doesnt give us any MP, it doesnt really benefit a lot from dark arts.
The enimity thing doesnt look so good, it just seems useless since we could use Unleash once and everything around is already taunted for the cost of some MP.

Does the enimity from that combo counts for just one minion or for everything around me? I found myself not using it at all, and still being able to keep enimity even with the teams way stronger than myself.

I ask because i want to get rid of it and use these 2 buttons for something else, making it easier for me (im on ps4).

Besides being the second step for combo of 3 that is needed for more enmity....(power slash) hmmm yes you do. I know on ps4 it seems like a waste, however yes you do need it.

I literally use it one time in grit at the start of a raid fight in my static with dark arts to build hate (no ninja) then don't use it again at all the rest of the fight unless grabbing hate on something or its a hate emergency for whatever reason (DPS forgets to pop diversion, didn't use lucid, forgot to shirk etc...). Sometimes as offtank I will precombo up to power slash for it to be ready to dark arts+powerslash the add when it appears and never go into grit.

I can't see a reason you would need to remove it yet, our current skill allotment is the lowest between the tanks. You can also use a L+R half a hotbar if playing with controller.

    I wrote it wrong sorry.
I meant, the whole combo, spinning slash and power slash together, i cant find using it myself like at all, seems like i could just get rid of them completely. Its easy enough to control enmity with the unleash, i was trying to use that combo outside of the grit stance, but it was super weak to generate the enmity anyway.
Cant see the point of that combo.

I only use it when a lot of enemity is needed (pull, aggro reset with whm in o4s, etc ...)

Other than in synced (leveling) dungeons where PS combo is stronger than just HS->SS without SE, and your initial pull, there should be no other use for it.

Except you have SAM/MNK (or any other high dmg dealing DPS) that don't use diversion frequently, and an OT that doesn't shirk you.
'Call me the power slash DRK!'

Yeah, the combo is a waste, just like any other enmity combo for tanks in lvl 60+ content.

Use it to start off a boss fight or tough single target, or in any dungeon where you sync out of unleash or soul eater, but its not as needed when higher lvls.

Always use Dark Arts with it, you wont lose hate the rest of battle. I could see poppin it at start with grit so you can then go out of grit and go full dps and still keep hate,

While DRK may seem repetitive their are times where that combo is needed. Mainly on raids or if people are about the same ilevel gear wise and actually know their job well. Normally I find my self over powering enmity just with abyssal drain, only use Power slash combo if my group has decent dps and my enmity is taken faster than normal. It's rare that I have enmity problems, however there are some players that actually know their job very well and force me to use power slash with dark arts.

You don’t want to use it but you may have to.

I take it you’re new so you’re probably in grit full time. If so, you will never need the power slash combo, but you’ll be doing a lot less damage than you could be. If you’re out of grit the dps might start nipping at your heels on enmity, it’s in these situations you’ll want to power slash to give yourself an enmity lead without going back into grit.

As to your question on how it works. It generates enmity 5.5x the damage you deal to the target (more with dark arts). So if a dps does 100 damage with a skill they generate 100 enmity, if you deal 100 damage with power slash you generate 550(without dark arts) enmity. And it’s only on the target you hit. If you want enmity on all targets you need to use a skill that hits all of them like unleash or abyssal drain.

SE in their infinite wisdom decided that we don’t need to know the multipliers attached to enmity generating skills so if you want to know the different modifiers for your enmity generating skills you can find them here.

I also use a controller and I keep my enmity combo on my extended crossbar so I have it there if I need it but in most cases you shouldn't need it often especially if your in your defensive stance a lot.
