At this point its a choice between not RPing with irl friends or going to Gilgamesh for raiding. Think for now I’ll just give up on RP, this game is extremely unfriendly to alts and I can just transfer over to Balmung in 10 years.
Oh!!! Wait, I just noticed that you're on Siren. Is your FC not doing raiding, or just too many people in it that you don't get noticed for needs? Also, I'm sure there's RP on our server...when I next log in, I could ask the NN. I'm sure one of my fellow mentors or hunters would know.
My FC is pretty much dying. We maybe do maps but other than that most people just sit in front of either the PotD npc or the squadron dungeon npc.Oh!!! Wait, I just noticed that you're on Siren. That's odd...you have 300+ members. I've never been in a large FC, so I dunno if that's typical. I'm taking a break for about a week to avoid some burnout, but if you're looking for a raiding partner, I'm more than willing. We're fairly small ourselves, but that makes things better for us. If you want, I'll leave you my discord info - I should be getting back to raiding once 4.2 hits.

Mateus is open pretty much every non peak hour in the US durring the week (dunno about weekends). Transfers to Mateus are always open.
After rolling an alt there I can say its pretty lively. If you're looking for rp, I'd recommend it- the new patch will bring people out of the woodwork, and come housing launch theres sure to be oodles of new venues![]()
I’ve found that a lot of large FCs are more dead than smaller ones. We usually have like 20+ people on but only like 4 of us talk in chatThat's odd...you have 300+ members. Ah yea...I know what you mean. My discord is Kaiva The Xaela#6875 if you ever wanted to link up. I'll be back online sometime this coming Friday.
I want to so bad but the MSQ kills it for me, it’s that everything is locked behind the massive grind. I’ll try to lvl an alt and get to certain points in the ARR story where I just say F it, I ain’t got time to make goblin cheese, or mess with these snow elfs and their superiority complex.Mateus is open pretty much every non peak hour in the US durring the week (dunno about weekends). I don’t get it. Why can’t we have one server? Pick one dead server for each data center and type RP (I know that’s a lot to ask) next to the server name on the list of servers. Maybe offer free transfers to it if you’re feeling generous.
I know we have Balmung as the go to, but seeing as how it’s locked pretty much 24/7 and Mateus being a tiny RP server, it would be good to finally have one dedicated RP server that’s set in stone complete with a tag.
If someone can help me understand their stance on Balmung and RPing it would be welcomed, because asking for two letters next to a server name doesn’t seem that big of a request.
Part of me knows it’s about the paid transfers but seeing as how those are disabled to Balmung, I’ll leave it out.
People have alrady done that (picked servers), it has just been done by us players instead of SE.
Currently the unofficial RP servers are Balmung, Mateus, and Omega.
Small groups of RPers can also be found on many other servers.
Mateus isn't tiny - it is almost as busy with RP as Balmung is.
Why would we need an official RP server? What would improve with having one, except for new people not having to spend five minutes with Google to find out which the unoffical RP servers are?
I understand the problem with adding a tag to existing servers. Back when Mateus got flooded with Balmung players the existing population wasn't exactly happy about it as they chose to play on a tiny server for themselves.
But I do also think that until we get official servers (mind the plural) there will simply be a flocking towards the one current designated open server. There may be a handful of RPers on pretty much every server, but RP is an incredibly social activity, the fun of it lies in having a large pool of players doing it.
