I recently read that in China servers you can buy outright a Retainer for like $16.00. Is that true? And if so why can't other data centers do that?

You can buy retainer jump potions on the Mog Station so it's likely it was just that if that's what you mean?
Also China has completely seperate servers to everyone else in the world as they are managed very differently (for local regulation reasons) so they benefit from some things in the game that the rest of us can only hope to get.
No this was paying a one time fee to have your retainer forever.
I don't know as to the veracity of that claim, and if it's true the intricacies of why they have that option (China has some kind of weird rules when it comes to online gaming) but can I just say that I REALLY want this option?
Of course, they probably make more money off the subscriptions than they would a single lifetime fee.
If nothing else, could you give me the option to pay for more than one month at a time? It's annoying.

I know this, but I would like to continue paying for my subscription month by month but it would be easier for me to just buy 6 months of retainer service at a time or something while keeping the actual subscription month by month. Or vice versa.

Y'think?
I'd jump at the chance to stop subscribing to my bank space (a thing not even f2p games do). If there were an option to pay, say 20 bucks, to just have my extra retainers forever I'd be all over it.
