You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
Lyse used to be my worst, only because she spent up to SB being a dullard, but now she's thrusted into leadership via destiny and has to grow up. Perhaps its better this way, she was just a generic action girl up until now, but she shined in 4.1 and made some hard decisions. Now she has M'naago and Raubahn backing her up, I'd say Ala Mhigo will be a forced to be reckoned with soon.
Minfillia, I mean she was nothing more than a figurehead with no real talents, and damsel in distress.
Godbert disappointed me with this last patch, guess the writers wanted to hammer home the idea that even "good guys" have their flaws. He did have a point, just jarring to hear him say it.
Elidibus - Mystery character for three expansions is getting old, he just plays everyone as pawns but we don't get a glimpse into his true endgame.
The Sylphs mostly because their questline is just so boring to the point I was skipping dialogue.
Yda mostly because of her annoying voice and her boring characterization(hopefully she gets better in the expansions).
YAASSS!! PREACH IT!The Monetarists, and all the Grand Companies after 2.0's ending (except Ishgard which is best country). "The Weapon of Light" was aptly put from the DRK storyline, because they'd let you risk hide and hair to kill their primals for them but as soon as it came down to them to stick their necks out for you against the Monetarists after you saved them 18,394,405 different times, they shut up, went ghost and let you be chased down by a bunch of jobbers that the WoL should be able to kill an army of with their sneeze because "muh politics". They don't get a pass for coming to help you AFTER Haurchefant already did, who had the proper response of "don't bring your asses into Ishgard Brass Blades, or 100 Dragoons are gonna be diving on them with spears".
I don't care that they weren't at Carteneau, the only country that had your back, the player, was Ishgard, and that's why they're the best.
I'm STILL waiting for SE to make the announcement that Ishgard is finally getting their Grand Company, the Temple Knights; I'm ready to ditch Twin Adders so I can join the crew and be with my man :3
Okay, back to the subject:
So far, the character that I'm starting to dislike more and more is Yotsuyu. She's one twisted lady and now that she's going through this amnesia phase, I'm keeping my guard up. People making theories that she's faking it; it wouldn't surprise me if that turned out to be true. I'm wondering, what will happen if Yotsuyu somehow got her memories back? All I know is that I'll be ready to kick her ass to the next Calamity.
[super inactive on this Forum LOL]
The grand company leaders. 90% of the time they do NOTHING and expect the WoL or scions to come to their aid for issues they help cause. Even when war is on their doorstep they still dont try to actively lift a finger. (With the exception of Raubahn at times, whose hands - I'm sorry hand - is tied by the dumb monetarists.)
You may want to watch the cutscene again. If the WoL kept on running, it would of missed.Wrong, running would not have stopped the spear from hitting the Wol. Hitting a moving target with a spear, bow and arrow, is the same hitting with a bullet. You aim just ahead of the target and let the projecticle fly by the time it reaches where you aimed your target will be there.
Alphinaud!
I'm pissed to have to follow the orders of this kid who thinks to know everything but acts like a douchebag.... /slap /slap
"go there, go here, pick this thing for me , you are the wol but please carry this box for me it's so heavyyy"
Alphinaud.
Why am I, the warrior of light, leaping to obey a teenager who has no experience doing anything?![]()
Skipping villains, since I feel like you're supposed to hate them?
I was not sad to see Minfillia go. Getting called back the Waking Sands over and over and over... just to be sent another place... Like girl, just tell me where you want me to actually go via link pearl. And none of that "The Garleans can hack the link pearls" bull crap, it's not like sending me to go help Tataru make tea is a state secret!!
Lyse has been kind of a roller coaster for me. Through 2.x she was okay, nothing I found too obnoxious. But then we get the whole ass pull dead sister thing to suddenly bring her into the spotlight, and honestly I could not care less about saving Ala Mihgo, so the wind-up pre-Stormblood had me cringing. Over the course of Stormblood, seeing her grow up a little kind of brought her around for me... but then 4.1 kicked her right back into "Ugh, not her again" territory, with the whole overly wide-eyed idealism and "We'll rule Ala Mihgo with the power of friendship." I get the whole thing about Ala Mihgo not wanting another crazy king, but doing all this build-up on Lyse's character, including her dramatic leaving of the Scions, only to have her not actually end up the ruler of Ala Mihgo just feels like a waste. Not to mention I liked the dynamic that was established between her and Hien in 4.0, so I was hoping it might lead up to an "new rulers of former Garlean territories ally to kick some ass" and it doesn't seem like it's going to end up that way after 4.1. Boo.
But my true least favorite character is probably Yugiri. I was all hyped to like her--female Au Ra ninja, okay, cool--but... she's just so boring? Her voice acting is so unmemorable, her face makes me feel depressed just looking at it, and the extent of her contribution in Stormblood was basically walking into a trap because she suddenly got a hold of the idiot ball and decided to go for broke. I really hate when it's female characters who get subjected to the "my emotions overcame me" trope. Ick, pass. Not to mention, there are just too many other more interesting candidates (Cirina, Lyse) for me to buy much into Yugiri's bodyguard crush on Hien, which is the only other thing I got out of her scenes in Stormblood. I'm sure my hate for her is irrational, but I just don't see the need for this character all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I thought long and hard and decided on the Griffin.
True, there are many annoying NPCs; but they ultimately had little impact on the grand scale of things and can be annihilated anytime the WoL wishes if it is not for the narrative (i.e., that damn lalafell who follows the griffin but has not yet resurfaced, Hildibrand and his gang which are completely optional, etc. )
But the griffin dragged us to a fricking war that nobody needed because his sorry ass was too weak to win on his own. Even his ultimate primal was pretty much put down the moment it popped up.
Big panda is an awesome bear!
