Well here's a thread for when you really have to reach in order to find a source for your butthurt.
For the record my favorite characters throughout this 90s-D&D-paperback-grade fantasy adventure story are all of the ones mentioned here.

I don't hate any NPC per say, but the bottom of my favorite list is definitely Minfilia and Lahabrea. That guy was like saturday morning cartoon villain. "I see you passed this long tedious dungeon, it will be a shame if someone happened to summon a big buff monster for you the fight now...." Admittedly, I kind of wish there was more to him than being a nuisance. He was like our bad guy and we didn't even get the final kill on him. I can't get over that!
Minfilia I was indifferent towards, until she did nothing to save or even stop Moenbryda. She just stood there and that was my final drop. I don't miss her even one bit.
Yotsuyu. Her arc is done, there is no reason for her to not be dead. I struggle to imagine anything they do with her will be better than just having her have died in the collapse. Even if she serves as character development for other characters, that could have been done in other more satisfying ways, I'm sure. Nevermind that, as many have said, amnesia is unpalatable after so much use and abuse. If they want to redeem Fordola, its cringey and probably largely inappropriate, but fine. But Yotsuyu needs no redemption. She lived for the thrill of vengeance on her own, no perception of a just cause, only fulfilling selfish hate. Some times people are evil and need to pay for their crimes, whether their life was crappy or not.

Same here, minus the mention of Minfillia in there. In fact, I'm resisting the urge to vent about how Minfillia gets WAAAAYYYY too much flack then she actually deserves here, along with how Lyse seems to be the most recent example of a character getting more flack then she actually deserves. Alphinaud too apparently. But I already know full well what would happen if I dare to try and defend them. And besides, the thread is about stating what characters we don't like anyway. So imma just let it all slide here in this thread.
While I don't "truly hate with passion' for any of the characters, there are those that I dislike, just like any other piece of fictional work. (In my eyes, every story needs some characters that you end up disliking/hating during the events of said stories. You wouldn't have much of a story otherwise, IMO) The following characters I'm about to list are the only ones that came truly close to me wanting to smash their faces in:
1: Basically the entire Garlean Empire. But more specifically... Gaius, Livia, and Zenos. Interestingly, the empire in FFXV actually succeeds in making the empire here in FFXIV look peaceful by comparison. But it's still no excuse for what the empire does here in this game.
2: Pawah Mujuuk from the Archer quest line. Arguably the ONLY cat girl character so far I've seen in all pieces of fictional work I've seen that I wanted to strangle to death instead of help. As I may sometimes even say to my friends via party and FC chat while I'm off killing said poacher Miqo'te in the Shroud... "They're an embarrassment to my own kind!" She more or less meets her end though.
3: The Ascians. Do I need to explain why?
4: Yotsuyu. I think it's clear why people hate her, given the things she does. Depending on where things go for her in the future patches though, she may or may not get removed from my list. Her fate remains to be seen.
5: Laurentius. That constant back-stabber had it coming.
6: Illberd. For being a fanatic traitor who got a lot of his people slaughtered and for bringing about a primal. Bonus points on the fact that he took one of Raubahns arms.
7: Emmanellain. (Mouthful of a name. Had to look up how to spell it correctly, lol) The one rare example of a character on our side. Thancred thankfully already did what I felt needed to be done though. And it seems to have sit with him too, if the ending of Heavensward is anything to go by. He aims to become a better person at the end of it all.

Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes Thancred.Top spot would have to be Thancred, though I fear Estinien is going to be up there soon too. They wre nothing more than broken men serving as plot devices to “save the day” with only a fig leaf of explanation of how they got there, if that. The scene what garlean soldiers fire on estinien while he just sits there to no effect, or thancred casually uppercutting a cyclops, basically says every reason I want them to die.
Goblins and the Namazu. I can't stand them. Especially so-called Goblin architecture... it's hideous.
I do not like Y'shtola, but I don't truly despise her (not yet at least.) The old Alphinaud was definitely on the list, but he's moved on to neutral.
If this topic had been about any character, I would've listed the Warrior of Light...

Becouse people like me actually like him lolThe entire cast of Harry Potter and the Scholasticate's Stone, including Inspector Briarden. I mean, I get you want to do a homage to them via the Scholasticate quest, but good lord. And Briarden was the most annoying character in Hildebrand quests, why do we need more of him?
Jacke of the rogues guild... trying to read his dialogue was painful...
Marcette Manne - I thought there'd be something redeeming about her by the final side quest but no, she's just an evil jerk. Oh, how I wish I can kick her giraffe neck ass over the wooden railing and into the pit.
Briarden is just anime glasses guy. He's literally the same stereotype when any male character with glasses in anime shows up, right down to adjusting them on cue. The only difference is he has long white hair rather than short black. He's annoying because he is so much of a trope, without anything to really redeem him in the same way other "foil" characters do. He's offscreen half the time for the scholasticate quest and doesn't even help you, he just comes in and sums up what you have learned while you are helping harry and ron try and save draco.
I don't even dislike minfillia as much. Min was more of a realistic leader than people give credit for; her only power was her echo, and she did what leaders actually do, guide and delegate. Ppl assume leading is like James Kirk, the boss just goes down and bashes the lizardmen, but thats not how it works. If anything Alphinaud was more unrealistic; he's the heir to a powerful family, and he's spending 85% of his time with you.
