What Happens To Houses We Have on Same World? Do We Get Our Money Back?

Hubby has 2 characters on our main World, each one has a house and an FC house. What is going to happen to his house on launch? Will one get demoed and which one? Will it get demoed on patch day, or not until the housing is implemented the week after?

You realize that you are forcing people to leave their FCs over this, right? He has worked very hard to attain and decorate his houses on both characters, and now you're just going to randomly blow up one of them?

I hope we get some say in which property gets demolished and you refund ALL EXPENSES ACCRUED IN THAT HOUSE to the owner. Cost of plot when it was purchased, cost of building permit, AND cost of furnishings that can no longer be utilized.

Absolutely stupid idea. I know why you did it, you're desperate, but right now, my house is the only thing that keeps me paying a sub, literally. Making sure my house doesn't get blown up is the only reason I am paying a sub right now. If you were desperate enough, instead of PUNISHING individuals, you could, oh, I dunno, GET MORE SERVERS! So you might want to take into consideration that personal housing is the only reason some of us still play.

Anyone who has a house worked REALLY hard to get it. If someone worked really hard on 2 characters, instead of just one, and want to have a similar experience for both characters and have a house for each that should be allowed. In hubby's case he wanted to go old-school FFXI and made one char for his melee/tanks and one for his casters/healers. He has put 4.5 years of hard work, playing almost daily into both of those. HE DESERVES BOTH OF HIS HOUSES.

Great job devs. You fixed the housing plot problem... But broke the experience for hundreds of people.

PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!!! Let us keep our houses on 2 characters + FC house.

Also you said personal houses would be restricted from purchasing for a period of time, but that players could still relocate. So if he wants to just move to another zone can he do that when the additional plots for FC are put in, since it's just a relocation? Or not buy any house anywhere for personal use until it's unlocked later?

nothing is going to happen based on the information we have now. it only further restricts buying of plots from now on.

FC house should not count as personal housing when taken into the limit.

From what I've read any player that owns more than one dwelling will not be affected other than they cannot buy additional housing after 4.2. In other words they are grandfathering existing housing owners.

Gil back doesn't quite cover the blood sweat and tears you put into buying it and making/buying furnishings to make it look nice. It's easy to put 50 mil into furnishings for a medium, are they gonna give that much back?

Didn't they show in the live letter what it looks like when you try to log in with more than two houses? If they have that implemented, the houses are probably not getting grandfathered. You'll probably get your gil back though.

Yoshida said in Japanese on the live stream that existing owners wouldn't lose their housing, but we've just had a confirmation of this in English too:

Yoshida mentioned during the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XLI that the rules being added in Patch 4.2 will be applicable to new purchases only. Players who already possess more than one FC estate and 1 personal estate per world will not lose their existing housing.
