A new take on Pet/Companion Jobs

Puppetmaster (Puppetdancer?) - A melee/ranged dps dexterity class, sharing the same gear as ninja. This is something a bit different from what we have so far and a new take on the whole pet/companion jobs.

    Basic Gameplay
The unique trait of this job is that this class a unique GCD that never changes. It stays the same no matter what level you are or the stats you put into the class. Any skill speed you get while a puppetmaster is instead split to the other secondary stats. The combo rotation with the static GCD focuses on the 3 step movements and timings of a waltz. The job also has no built in off GCD skills. This all combines together to make the class follow the flow of a dance. Think of the first part in the primal battle Ravana.
The class uses a 3 step combo rotation. Animation wise the general theme for each step is that the 1st step has the doll attacking, the 2nd step has you moving, the 3rd step you and the doll move in unison. All animations have a part of dance behind it that flows well into each other when doing the combo correctly. If the combo is done incorrectly then it looks weird like it should.
Not necessarily a ranged class but more range then the other melee dps classes while sporting their general mobility. Gameplay wise what the doll does is animation, the only hitbox you have to worry about when dodging aoes is yours. There is also no extra set of skill bar you have to worry about like with summoner.
Only takes up one main hand slot; the doll to change to the puppet master class. Instead your main weapon is in the off-hand slot in the form of dresses for the doll. This slot is glamourable allowing you and the doll to change and match outfits

    Lore
In your adventures throughout Sharlaya or Garlea, depends on the expansion the job is released, you come upon an abandoned workshop of an old dollmaker. You find a strange box with a cursed seal. You accidently open the seal with your WOL powers and release the doll who tries to kill you. You are able to defeat it and put it under your control. It’s a female doll that looks a lot like the current doll minions, but appearance wise is less scary and more pretty and cute. The doll naturally doesn’t like being forced to fight for you, but begrudgingly does so. It does this by dancing, when it moves it cuts and ravages the area around it. It also expects you to follow its moves and perform with it. As you level up and do job quests your bond with the doll increases. This shows by your growing strength and skills you unlock. By max level the two of you are a real duet, you are no longer just following after the doll but dancing as a pair with it. The finale job quest involves the two of you doing a performance at a Sharlayan or Garlean theater. Future job quests in further expansions focuses on you on the doll expanding on your dancing, and more exploration into the doll’s origin. Mainly on how the doll was created and what happened to its creator.

    Thematic
A deadly waltz between you and a female doll under your control. The doll is living being and can speak, has its own personality, and talks to you a lot during job quests. When not in combat and walking around it will make the occasional quip.
Its interactions will include it making quips, insults, or jokes about the WOL and their silent protagonist traits. Like how silent and deadpan they tend to be or how they’ll tend to take on any request given to them.
When sheathed the doll sits on your character like a minion on either the shoulder or head of your character.
It also has a few race specific lines during the job quests. Mostly about specific traits that might assumedly get in the way of the dancing.
    • Roegadyn- Comments about how big they are
    • Au ru- Comments about their horns and scales
    • Miqotes- Comments about their tails
    • Elezens- Comments about their giant necks
    • Lalafellin- Comments about their short height and rotundness
    • Hyur- Comments about how plain and boring they are in comparison to the other races

Some Examples Ambient Messages when the Puppetmaster job is Equipped. (Can turn this off in options menu)
Entering Ul’dah- “Can we get out of here already? The sand just gets everywhere”
    • Entering the Weavers Guild- “Oh! Are we getting me a new dress?”
Entering Limsa- “Try not to fall in. The salt water really isn’t good for my limbs”
Entering Ishgard- “Wow its cold. Well probably. Not like I can feel it”
    • At Haurchefant’s Grave- “Who’s this? Oh you’re praying? Alright I’ll just be waiting… up here…”
Entering Gridania- “Why do the people keep staring at me?” (Reference to the clockwork maker that was hanged for making a bunch of cursed minions)
    • Entering the Min Khetto Ampitheatre- “This would be great place to perform. Wait no? People here aren’t crazy about living dolls?”
Entering Shirogane- “Those are some weird clothes”
    • Entering the House of the Braves- “Why can’t a base for revolutionaries ever look nice? This is just a run down cave”
Walking through the Waking Sands- “I smell a lot of blood here. What happened?”
Exiting the Rising Stones after receiving an MSQ- Sighs “Off to save the world again”
    Sometimes when finishing a duty-
    • “Between you and the constant risk of being torn into pieces, I’m starting to prefer being trapped in that box”
    • “What do you think? Pretty good dancing I’d say.”
    • “Your twirl back there was a bit off. You better get that fixed”
    • “Done already? That wasn’t even the full performance”
Dying (When relationship is still bad)- “Finally I’m free!”
Getting Rezzed (When relationship is still bad)- “Gods damn it!”
Dying (After certain job quest where relationship is good)- No! “(Insert username)!”
Getting Rezzed- Sigh of relief. “You almost left me without a partner!”

    Emotes
Battle Pose- The doll jumps off your shoulder/head. The two of you then do a few movements before preparing for battle.
Victory Pose- A quick dance and twirl followed by a different finish depending on gender
Female- Both you and the doll do a curtsy
Male- You do a bow while the doll does a curtsy

Role in high tier raid groups
A debuff class that can naturally inflict weakness to magic, strike, blunt, and stab attacks with its combos. Allow other melee dps classes to focus on their main damaging combos. Has good synergy with mage and some melee classes. No buffs though, and very poor synergy with a samurai and ranged classes. It’s an aggressive pick that boosts dps raid wide but provides little other support. Replace with bard or machinist if you need the support.
