So with no melding at all, the new augmented yellow script set puts one at 1264 gather, 1196 perception and 676 gp. I guess melding to the belt will put you over the perception requirement.

So I guess if overmelding is out of the price range, you are looking at a long long yellow scrip grind.

I was able to grind out the yellow scrips required for all the gear in about a day so it isn't too bad if it is just now the upgrade costs.
