    Ninja Fixes anywhere?

    Since 4.0 there has been quite a number of people reporting issues with ninjas and heavy lag using mudras and especially with tcj. in many cases making the job completely unplayable at any kind of decent level.

    I'm beginning to wonder if this will ever be fixed or acknowledged as there has been no mention of ninja in the job changes or the live letter and it's a bit saddening as it's a job I really like and loved to play in heavensward.

    At present though good few people I know and myself have totally benched the job because it's just unplayable with current lag issues and really needs some fixes. especially to TCJ.

    most of the time at present I cant even toss a fuma shurikan without it clipping my gcds. would really like to see it fixed

    There's been no"fixes" because a latency-proof mudra and TCJ require much more work than changing a potency number somewhere in the gamefile.

    One day perhaps they'll recode the way some actions are dealt with (player side instead of server side), but I don't even know if this can be done on a spell per spell basis.

    This issue affect every job on different level and this is something SE is aware of but there's no easy fix. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if they'd basically have to recode the whole battle system to make it more fluid like any other MMO. (Someone will surely confirm / infirm this part)

    I thought they already did that for the mudras in HW.

    The way I understand it, it's the actual Ninjutsu that isn't. A common occurrence at high latency since the HW update is the ninjutsu "updating" itself mid-cast, like a Fuma animation that turns to a Raiton, or a Raiton that turns into a Suiton, which is probably caused by the server catching up with your client based mudra inputs and updating to the correct jutsu partway through.

    Pretty sure it could be fixed, but they're probably afraid of it being abused by altering the client.

    It was fine towards end of heavensward no real issues were present.

    the data centre move slowed it down a bit and made ration clip occasionally but it was still workable.

    since 4.0 though it's just been horrendous. many players I know cant even toss a fuma shurikan without clipping gcds and TCJ is just impossible to work with with such latency issues. which makes playing ninja just impossible at any decent level.

    keep hoping they'll address it and sort it out.

    They did adresse it for mudra only and it was a lot of work according to them.

    I also hope theyll rework it one day.

    This, of course, depends a lot on where you're at. I'm in California, so I'm happy to say that I finally can use most mudras without as many incidents. Though there does still seem to be something finicky about the inputs on TCJ even this close to the server, which might mean it has something to do with the way the skill is coded.

    All SE did was register the inputs fluidly on the client side for the individual Ten/Chi/Jin mudras. The delays are still present in the client/server transfer, and you can still feel them with enough latency. I'm personally not sure how TCJ operates but my guess is the mudra command itself wasn't fixed, and TCJ exposes that.
