    Card priority for Double astro raids?

    I recently ran a Void Ark with another Astrologian as second healer. First boss comes up and he typed out "i hate having double astro heals". Right after he said that I used my full party Arrow buff a nano second after he used his full party Balance buff effectively overwriting the his better buff.

    Then he said "... wow for that reason exactly". I felt bad about it, but his attitude was not the best so not.. too bad haha. I made a point to tell him use his buffs first from now on.

    He said "Usually whoever has group Balance goes first".

    Is this true?

    Is "Whoever has spread Balance buffs the party first" an untold rule of duo Astro healers in raids?

    Yes - Balance goes first. If both Astros have an AoE Balance prepared, I always ask if they'd like to Balance first. Also, (and I'm sure this is evident), you'll want to regularly check to see what your co-healer has been drawing/Royal Roading to avoid potential over-writes.

    Yeah I usually keep up with checking the other Astro's buffs to avoid such instances, but this was the first boss and I was unaware of the "balance goes first rule" so I figured it didn't matter as long as we didn't overwrite (plus he was typing so I figured I could get my buffs off first ;]).

    Instead of starting out saying "I hate having other astros in my groups" maybe clarifying who buffs first would have been a better idea.

    Personally I follow simple rules;

    If double Astro in same party you have to be careful do to over write of Cards. Balance is always nice, however if some party member require other types I would do double effect and single them if it benefits the group. IF your the only AST it would depend on which raid and how it is progressing. Specially if your tank does not use buffs properly or players keep wiping >.>

    I also hate double ASTs for that reason lol. But Balance should always go first, followed Spear/Arrow. You can try to make a judgement call (I have no qualms in overwriting an AoE Spire) but even if you think you have the perfect lineup for the moment, try to wait for buffs to be almost falling off (essentially taking turns) before you cast yours. Everyone wants to have an opportunity to buff the party, so watch for your fellow AST to see what they're doing and give them some time too.

    AOE Balance will always take priority in terms of cards. After that, you can use your AOE Spear/Arrow. I always try to ask my co-AST if they want to Balance first if we’re both holding them. If they don’t answer, I wait about 5 seconds into the pull, and if they haven’t used their card yet, I do mine (of course, half the time they still overwrite it after I asked and waited for them to use it first).

    I got into the habit of making macros with sound effects whenever I was readying a spread Balance/Spear/Arrow. Just something like “AOE Balance HELD and READY! Using in 5! <se.3>”. It was...semi-effective. Usually, you just have to pay really close attention. However, I will not hesitate to call out an AST that overwrites my AOE Balance with something stupid, like an AOE Ewer or Spire (though I usually don’t have to because sometimes party members will say “RIP Balance” for me lol).
