Still, I would argue that, given it was a leveling dungeon, Kinazu really didn't deserve what he got. I remember lvling arcanist (and, once or twice as a tank) andending up getting aggro on an add or two that I dotted that the tank wasn't hitting, only to be told to take it easy, cause it was hard on the tank to keep aggro on all those adds. I guess I COULD have blamed him/her, but later on, I leveled PLD, and found that, in those early lvls, it IS that hard to keep hate. That was long ago, tho. I'm long past knowing or caring to know the meta, now.

As for the Job, yeah, I get that, but I've seen some times where, when ppl make this bad habit, they assume that the person has most of the skillset and experience of the job, when they aren't even the job at all. Maybe troll was the wrong word, but that guy came on awfully strong to Kinazu for a simple mistake like that.
Oh I fully agree, and said in my last post i am not defending that person at all and def was out of line.. just that... I saw some misunderstandings and liked them to be cleared up. (along with not assuming people calling the class the job it leads into the job name is a troll) that's all, no biggie

For keeping enmity off it, just flash more, i mean.. I know it is boring and does not feel rewarding to spam flash but you need to use it 2-3 times a pack and you should be fine. If a tank is telling a DPS to do less DPS, they are a bad tank, in regards to this game.

No time to read the whole thread but wanted to share a recent experience to see if this qualifies...

I went into the Rabanastre dungeon last night for the first time (as Ninja - 320 iLVL) and while I studied up on the mechanics it was still a whirlwind and tough at times. I died a couple times and we only wiped once, but towards the end the Tank marked with with the 'X' target, then the Healer added the 'Do Not Attack' (I think - circle with an x in it) on me as well. It made seeing everything a lot more difficult and I didn't know if this was their way of saying, 'You suck dude,' or if there was a strategic reason, or if they were just screwing around. I didn't report anyone, but figure this is the place to ask (and I'm working on getting better!).

I don't know what they were thinking, but that's not something I see routinely done for strategic reasons. There's no particular reason to have a marker on the third boss aside from A/B/C on the ground, and the final boss doesn't need markers at all. Putting it on a player who doesn't know why it's there isn't going to signify anything useful to the group.

And I mean, dying a couple of times in Rabanastre isn't a big deal. I consider it a good night if I don't res the same person three times on Hashmal.

I have seen people do that to players that AFK during 24 man raids, so they get carried the whole way, which in this case is more like "we see you not doing anything".

I believe some do that when someone dies a lot or does very poor dps... although it's very rare.

I was in an ARF party the other day, and the black mage was just not doing much damage at all. The tank could've yelled and screamed and stomped his feet that a dungeon that already seems to take way too long was taking that much longer.

But he didn't. He kindly explained why they'd want to use Fire 2 over 3, and how to restore their mana with Ice spells. Most players think "well they're level 50, they should absolutely know that by now", but it was really nice to see a tank that was patient and kind.

Reminds me of when I played monk at endgame and had no idea that different actions did better damage when executed from different angles (positionals). Back then, I didn't even know our action skills had write-ups about them. I thought it was just a list of all the ones I'd learned thus far so I never paid any attention to it until a kind soul explained that they did indeed have little popups and such. This was before Hall of the Novice and all of that.

The thing is. It's common for players to just stomp their feet and say that they won't take your advice, and then call your advice harassment.

Well this isn't Xbox live for one.

    A few tips.

You are not entitled to give me your opinion.

That's it that's the only tip.

If you don't know the person don't assume they want to hear your opinion. People on here talking about snowflakes yet they typically get very angry when you turn it back on them. If it's not in a LS or FC or Friends it's probably best to just not say anything. It's not going to change the situation and will most likely just make it worse. You ALWAYS have the option to just leave the situation if it's not working out. Frankly a bad party happens to me 1 in 100 times, typically I just leave or kick them.

If it's constantly happening to you maybe it's time to look at your own play style.

I'll give you a tip if you're underperforming below the minimum expected to not be carried. If you ignore it I'll ask you to consider what I said, if you ignore and/or say the tip is unwanted. You're probably better off out of the party by difference of playstyle. Unless you know, people are actually willing to carry you. Then I don't mind leaving myself, most of the times.

Actually on underperforming on PF farm groups, if I'm the leader I straight up just disband. Because it's better than causing a whole tumult. Or simply leave if I'm not the leader. I'm not entitled to give you my opinion but the game chat is free to let me do so. If you don't want to hear it that's you, not me. You're free to ignore people as well if you think they're wrong. But that's all different from harassment, and people been calling this itself as harassment.
