Approach.

I think most of us have dealt with at least one sh*thead player, and it's natural for us humans to get a little hung up on a single bad experience.

I think, too, that most importantly, it's just people not knowing how to give or take criticism at all.

So, a bit of special snowflake and just trying to help rolled into one bad package. You find players who feel they are doing great, and the moment someone attempts to broach the subject of improvement, it feels like an insult, when 99.9% of tge time it's just genuinely trying to help a friend out.

had it happen to me other day with a tank. tank pulls large group then when my summoner use's aoe that hits all the monsters and one breaks off and says its my fauld for not being next to him. Don't thing ranged magic user or dps should be standing next to the tank.

Depends on the enemies. If they have pbaoes, then yeah standing back so you can actually cast without having to move constantly makes sense. If they don't, then there's no penalty for being close. It's not like being further away makes your spells hit harder.

Just did a trial with 2 paladins.... one told the other if they want to MT they need to put their shield up.

Even I knew that 2 paladins always trade off stances...even tanks....its just....a well duh.

"Don't need it at 50" is working under the assumption the PLD's DPS is good, that they're with a group of DPS and healers who themselves know how to control enmity. In a 50 trial, where the DPS checks are already super outclassed anyway, and with a mixed bag of strangers, it's probably not a bad idea to have one in stance and one off stance. But I won't stay anything unless I'm plucking hate out from under the tanks who are in DPS stance and getting pummeled on my non tank job despite spamming Diversion.

Do you need it? No, a tightly oiled group of folks will be fine. Is it still a good idea? Yes, if your healer died cuz they pulled hate.

Usually when that happpens it isn't because of non-tank stance. It's because the tank doesn't know how to play without tank stance and just want to do how others do, without knowing how. But still if they're just close of losing enmity but never losing, they're doing well. Managing our own aggro is also our jobs as DPS and Healers. Sometimes they say they "don't need it". It is true. But they can't identify how to keep hate without it by themselves. Some other times players don't know how to manage their own enmity. I'm used on seeing RDMs that never pop Lucid until they take the boss to themselves and as a Tank on that case I just let it go, because I know they haven't used Lucid yet, and they will/should sooner or later.

If you are pressing your buttons before the cooldown resets(not reacting to it) and using all your ogcds when they are ready, and maybe ilevel i120 to having synced down gear? the pld will tank the whole fight. It was not long ago here I listened to someone complain lightly, well.. more like commenting on the large skill gap there is in this game, how she let the other PLD pull in shield oath, and she managed to pull enmity within the second cycle of CDs and however many spirits within and circle of scorn allows in that short span without an oath on (she forgot from it going away because of syncing down) When she popped sword oath she had rank A enmity. So she went on tanking, the shield oath pld popped provoke while the sword oath just kept doing her combos and kept using her ogcds. When the adds popped the shield oath pld gave up and the sword oath pld kept hate and tanking it. When the adds where killed that puller shield oath pld went sword.

I really do not understand the fear of having a sword oath pld MT during 50 trails, it is only 5 buttons to do so, if you keep hitting them that is. No one needs to really watch enmity, just the tank needs to know how to push 5 buttons fast enough, it isn't much. (with having all slots 120 or above, maybe 130 is required, i doono but the no oath to sword oath tanking pld was gear capped synced down)

Making it sound more complex then it really is.

I have been cursed out multiple times for just saying. "Hey can you please use aoe skills when there are 3 or more mobs?" I am always respectful in dungeons because I believe in treating someone as I would like to be treated. I also haven't seen harassment due to parsing, only bad play or people just being angry for no reason. It makes me wonder why questions and critique have become bannable offenses (it isn't, it is just certain players acting like it is as a way of shutting us up).

I once made an entire a12s clear party upset at me back in HW by simply saying, "I don't understand why you're having me pull and use equilibrium and holmgang if the healers aren't gonna dps." Even better was half the people started saying that we didn't agree the healers should dps so that meant they could stand idle for the first ~18 seconds of the pull.

Considering earlier tonight I died in World of Darkness because I somehow pulled Cloud of Darkness off all three tanks 3 minutes into the fight? I dunno. Seems like they needed it.

It depends on who's playing. Imo, 24 mans are just a contest to see who can be the worst player. I once saw a war in defiance the entire time (even though I was tanking every boss), never had maim up which means he wasn't using storm's eye combo or storm's path combo. And he never once had aggro on anything despite being in tank stance the entire time, which means he wasn't using butcher's block combo. I don't know how people manage to do that, but hey in 24 mans it just doesn't surprise me anymore.

People are being too sensitive and the problem is, there are many people defending them.
"Don't hurt their feelings", "Be more considerate", "Don't ruin the fun it's just a game", "Let people play the way they want"

That led to so many people having confidence in defending their bad play. And playing poorly became the norm.
