Greetings!
On the Lodestone, under "Help & Support", you can find a "Rules & Policies" link (NA/EU). On this page, there is the Account Penalty Policy (NA/EU), which details account penalties and their progression.
I hope this information helps to facilitate a more specific discussion, since the links had not yet appeared in the thread.

Yeah, all these sound super reasonable. I doubt this comes down to using certain vulgar terms. I think it really comes down to if you misbehave over and over again and direct those vulgar terms towars other people. I don’t think it is so hard to understand that just like in real life you don’t go into a crowded space, scream profanities or let out your frustrations at a person or persons, and expect not to be given a warning, citation, or even be arrested for disturbing the peace. Keep going it, and eventually the consequences of being a jerk add up, and the people hosting you will eventually throw you out.Greetings!

Square Enix isn’t your Mom. They are not here to coddle you and tell you “oh, you’ll learn to be more polite.” You aren’t a lovable child. You are a quest in their space and if you keep being a rude guest, they’ll stop inviting you to the party or ask you to leave.
And in certain cultures, such type of speech can even have your buisness penalized, such as paying fines to Germany or having your ESRB rating increased, or even internet controversy and parents boycotting the game for their teens for not being able to keep youth away from bad content. Square Enix is located in Japan, a culture built on honor and respect. Understand that.

We’re all advocating for the type of game we want to see. Mine just happens to clash with yours. I like a story driven game, where people can come together as a community, and defeat challenges based on a PVE format. I want to work together. [snip] You’re not gonna like what I say, but I’m gonna say it regardless because I want Square Enix to hear the other side.
I don't think there really needs to be a penalty decay or anything like that. You should have gotten the message the first couple of times. It's not hard to be a decent human being, follow the game rules, or hold back base urges to act unreasonably.
I suppose I don't agree with any victimless/untargeted profanity complaints because the filter exists as an option for the "victims," but on the other hand, so many people can't spell well enough that they'll be unintentionally bypassing the filter anyway.
It doesn't help that NPC's use words like "damn," "hell," or "shite," regularly, but that's rolled into the game's hard ratings and it's part of our job as a consumer to have done our research.
In the meantime, it's already turnimg into a running joke of trying find creative ways to not swear but get the point accross after I mentioned this rule to a few friends last night. 10/10 for a fun party game.
I'd rather seen this done for forums.
A perma ban for forums is not good, those very same people change in a course of time and regret getting perm banned, I would rather see it ban for a year once the year ends they get un banned.
If they havent changed the ban climbs to 2 years and so on but not forever thats going a bit far.
I understand 4 times but I have seen people get banned for really dumb reasons.
You agree to the terms when you install/play the game. Understanding the terms of this contract is your responsibility.
Doing enough to warrant a permaban isn't easy. You got 2 warnings? .. learn to watch what you say or get ready to buy a new copy of the game and start all over.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
I agree for game play not forums.
I seen someone reported for a picture of Well known Youtube star's they even were on southpark and he posted no words, then because someone didn't know or like it the person was reported and temp banned funny thing is the whole topic had pictures of different things and were even worse what that guy posted.
I seen someone say where is all the macho gear at and temp banned and a person who agreed with them temp banned.
Then funny thing is a came across a reddit post about it stating the 4 times they were temp banned and they were the worst reasons I ever seen, I kid you not I see people posting the very same things on here every day nothing happens to them.
This is why I say If players do not like you on forums they can X you out as a group and GM's don't look into if they are friends trying to tear down a person on purpose to get rid of them because they simply do not like them.
Ran into people like this on allakazahm forums back in FFXI, if they didn't like you they would swarm you like a school of sharks first sign of blood.
Why I say forums shouldn't be permabanned it should be yearly if anything I would say its SE decision but its not its players who run forums a GM is simply here to get you if reported.
My cousin was told by a GM during beta he would get better help by posting on forums with name so he did got the help then some player digged up the old topic and reported it for name shaming when the topic should of been deleted after his help.
I wish I was making that up to lol
Anyways I try to watch out in these forums you make wrong person angry they will want revenge so I stick to the topics I know that are correct.
