    Questions about content in FFxiv

Hello, i'm new on ff xiv and i have a few question for you :

    1) What are you doing when you are not raiding or doing some high level content
    2) How often there is new content that you can repeat without getting bored with 1 or 2 repeats ?
    3) How often there they add some innovation or new mechanics in the game ? Is this more in patch or new expansions ? And what kind of innovation is it ?
    4) How many time are you playing every days ? and how much time is necessary to to keep the rhythm of the game (new patchs, dungeon, raid,...) ?
    5) How often they add some new major patch (like 4.2 in ffxiv) ?

Bonus question : what is the actual endgame (raids, dungeons, trials and other ? And what can you say about housing ?

Thanks for your time, i'm sorry if there is some spelling errors, english is not my main language and i'm still learning. Have a good day.

    Welcome to XIV!

    1) Farm stuff from previous patches/expansions (Mounts, achievements, glamour), decorating house, crafting, gathering, leveling, gearing other jobs out, treasure maps, hunts, completing beastribes or getting tokens from them, relics.
    2) Usually every 3 months when the new EX primals get released or farmeable content gets released. Hard to tell, people tend to farm different stuff for different reasons.
    3) They try to do it on every patch.
    4) At me moment, I'm not playing till the next patch. But usually, as much as I can. To catch up on the game, not much if you know what you're doing. Otherwise, a couple of weeks because of lockouts.
    5) Major patches are released every 3 months, roughly. ilvl increasements every 6. They usually release the ilvl inc. patches along with the new 8 man raid and trials and then a catch up patch that prepares the players for the next ilvl inc. The later includes more dungeons, trials and a 24-man raid.

    1) Crafting, or achievement grinding of some sort. Helping friends, perhaps some levelling. There's always something to do.
    2) Most content. Nothing has bored me after 2 attempts.
    3) Not often enough, imo.
    4) I play every day, but I know people who do not and they're just as well off as I. It's rather hard to fall behind.
    5) Big patches come every 3-4 months or so.

Actual endgame is glamour. I mean if you don't look good, what's the point of even trying? But seriously it's the 8 man savage content.
Housing is fine, there just needs to be more of it.

    Hello there

    1) Leveling other jobs for the story, Doing hunts to upgrade equipment, Doing Beast Tribe dailies for even more story, Hunting the Fox Lady FATE, Triple Triad
    2) Good question. I'm loving the Stormblood dungeons so far (beside Doma Castle) and all the trials. And the Outfoxed FATE. And I still enjoy Palace of the Dead. Oh and Lost Canals of Uznair.
    3) Funnily enough new systems mostly come up in patches and actual expansion releases only add more story and dungeons. Rival wings was a pretty new addition. We will get more new stuff this month with 4.2
    4) I play once a day. But that one time is several hours long. You don't really have to unlife it asit is very easy to get enough item level for new releases.
    5) That's easy. 3 and a half months. There are sometimes staggered content between huge patches, but big ones with raids and dungeons and a whole lot of other stuff come every 3 and a half months.

Bonus: Well the absolute hardest content is Ultimate, but that is only one fight so far, so savage raiding is the top. As for housing. It is controversial. It had a lot of content related to it but it is not instanced so a lot of people can't get into it.

    Hi there,

    1) I'm doing roulettes, support guild members in content and just do whatever brings me fun. Or Level a class to see how it plays.
    2) With every patch ^^ But standard content is too easy in my opinion. "Normal" content should be a bit harder, especially expert contents. The gap to savage is way to big.
    3) No idea, the first big balance thing I experienced was with bloodstorm. I personally liked it on my main (Bard) and it felt a bit better than it was before.
    4) I would say 10h a week is enough to keep it up, you will have phases where a bit more effort is needed. And you have phases where you just need to go online to the raids.
    5) If I remember correctly approximately every 3 Months, inbetween is a "small" content patch.

    Bonus:

Dungeon are far too easy in my opinion. They tend to produce a lot of slackers that do not know how to play their class as the "minimum" effort is enough to make them. The Endgame Content is right for my gamestyle, but also here I heard some voices who say it is too easy, but for me it is just right. Housing is... yeah, questionable. The houses aren ot placed in open world, so I do not see a reason why they limit the slots. A lot of houses are not used and block the space for people who really want to use it.

I personally managed to get a house, I do not really need it to be honest, but I wanted a house to be able to give it to someone in my guild if anyone really really deserves it. I know i could get a lot of money for it, but I would not give it away to a buyer, I would just give it away to a friend. To someone from who I know he would really like to enjoy the slot and spends a lot of love to it. Till than I use it by myself to play around a little bit and to have a place to stay where I have my merchants

    1. Stuff... Seriously anything from other stuff in game to just being afk in game while doing stuff that isn't FFXIV
    2. Pretty much always. The only times it gets boring are caused by other players either causing wipes so we have to repeat the same fight 10+ times in 1 duty such as bad runs on hashmal or the long sessions of blame game finger pointing because of a wipe.
    3. Pretty much each content update they attempt to add something
    4. Playtime varies on numerous factors
    5. Major patches are usually quarterly

Current activities considered endgame. Deltascape savage, bahamut ultimate, shinryu EX. Some may also consider expert roulette duties, susano, Lakshmi, and rabanastre end game as well.

If you manage to get a house atleast decorate it :P

Thank you very much for all you answers i really appreciate it.
You comfort me in the idea to stay here but there is still some things that bother me like the fact that you lose some spells while sync. And the msq is really really long in my opinion.

But i will continue for now, thank's again !

The ARR main scenario is pretty weak after the 2.0 finalee but it gets better. The 3.0 story is a bit predictable but fantastic. The patch story is pretty good but rushed. Stormblood is a mixed bag for me.

1: I play other games, most content in this game is based on being throw away content so if your not raiding there is not that much to do. Before a new raidtire I do however make sure I have enough materia for incoming gear.
2: I would say every 6 month when the new raidtire comes.
3: They do try new mechanics every now and again, ones that are completely new and innovative are sadly few and far between especially outside raids and trials.
4: It changes from often and many hours per day during patches where the content interests me to days without even playing during patches with contain content that does not interest me. Having a raidgroup or not heavily influences this, an example is that during 4.1 I did not have a raidgroup and due to that hardly ever logged in, during most of 3.x and now again in 4.2 I will have a group (built by most of those I raided with during 3.x) and will therefor login more often to make sure I can play my role well enough and also attempt to improve my gameplay in order to benefit the group.
5: Their plan is every 3rd month, even has usually been for raiders with odd more for casuals, this has however changed with them seemingly focusing on raiders in even and hardcore in odd... kinda screwing over the casual players, if this decision ends up biting them in the ass we will have to wait and see.

The endgame is savage raids and ultimate fights, the dungeons they add are to easy while they also add to few of them now, content like Eureka (relic weapon related) as well as the new version of potd seems to be pushed back further then they should be. Eureka for one should have been in 4.1 but was pushed to 4.25 I think, this is a poor decision imho, the new version of potd is rumored to be planed to come in the later part of 4.x which is also a bad idea since if it is done right would provide content with a high replay value.
Housing is something that people either ignore or love, I love it and have my own medium size house, something that would be nice is if they added more of a reason to have a house beside playing the Sims FFXIV edition. But if they wish to add more functions to the houses then they also have to make them available for everyone that want one.

    Hi there, welcome to FF14

    1) Do other stuffs that progress my character or just go beat some bosses that I like the fight. Things that I consider progressing my character such as Beast Tribes quests, lvling other jobs (for story purpose), crafting, gathering, achievements, relic, etc. And if I have a mood, join help some aim to clear party.
    2) Every 3-4 months, we got new contents that we can farm. Each to their own if people will get bored or not but mostly not imo.
    3) They always try it on every new patch, worked or not.
    4) I usually play 2-4hrs. If you only want to keep your character updated to patch, 1-2 hrs should be more than enough imo unless you try to be early group that complete latest savage content.
    5) Major patch every 3-4 months, except last patch before new expansion may take 6-7 months.

Bonus : normally it will be Savage raid (Omega : Deltascape savage) but they just added further difficulty called "Ultimate" (Unending Coil of bahamut). Housing, I'm not sure what you want to know about but I can say it's nice place to hang out with friends especially for small FC .

I currently have my friend join the game and he also suffer from 2.0 mainquests too. I understand it but it will get better story will be much more interesting (and yes, less errand boy quests)
