Found A New Node?

I found a wierd node today trying to complete my exploration achievements, was wondering if anyone else found something similar. im currently trying to figure how to take a SS with my mac book but if anyone bored and wanna check it out it's in a cave guarded by a single lvl 70 Hippogryph @ the most NorthEastern tip of Feathergorge in Coerthas (however u spell it). I Click the node and all it gives me is "The aethlyrite node emits a dull light.." or something to that effect. It's not listed on the map, and dunno if its related to a quest. If anyone's got any info on it, would be much appreciated.

Note: camp closest to Feathergorge is Camp Glory for those that wanna check it out.

There are a few of these floating around, been there from the start. There is one in a cave near Blue-fog as well, if you explore enough you will find a few nifty things.

Stone Circle up in the far north shroud, Amber statue of some sorts in Humblehearth, the oil farms in Bluefog, the Shrine in North east Thanalan (Thal I think?).

Not really sure if Limsa has any special sights at the moment...but the view in lower bloodshore is to die for (Litteraly and figuaratively)

People don't know about them part in parcle with the ease of teleportation and lack of reward for actually exploring. Hell I think if you got the balls to get all the nodes you should be able to at least set one more favorite location or something. Motivate people to check out the map while it's still here!

I suggest anyone going for the Wanderers shadow Achievment to take a look around once in a while, outside of the Copy/paste terrain of the main roads you actually see some fairly good vistas out in the wilderness it's a shame SE never put it to use to shut some of the map haters up. I'm sure if everyone had all the nodes they would know what I'm saying. Not that the map isn't full of copy/pasted areas though.

Kewl, but what specifically do these nodes lead to? Or have they out lived their purpose?

South Bloodshore was easy once I knew to just walk...

But I agree, the maps are huge and much looks similar but there are many nifty little things you can see if you just look.

Unfortunatly they have no purpose, what the original plan for them will remain unknown. They turned one of them into a primal fight I think but I don't imagine that was the plan from the get-go.

sounds like it could be the node for the Garuda fight, (Ixali primal) I think it's the next planned primal battle
