If we buy appearance items on the MogStation, they should be dyable.

I'm sure Square Enix, Yoshi-P, and all the other Devs get this all the time, but let's be real. If they were adding a set of gear/appearance items into the game for free, such as, apart of a patch, that's fine, who cares if it's dyeable or not. But, if someone pays real money for appearance items off the MogStation, then it should be dyeable. There's no excuse for it.

I know we might get the "It's a lot more work" or "We want the outfit to stay true to characters design." But PUH-LEEZ, It's not much more work, because people make mods for the game to have non-dyable items be a specific colour that they want (Here is a mod that changes Lyse's coat to be any colour you want: https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy14/mods/20 ) and if they wanted the outfit to "stay true to the character" then other races wouldn't be allowed to wear those outfits.

I know it's a bit more work for the developers, but let's be real; it would sell a lot more outfits on the MogStation.

The fact that they are ok with not selling more outfits by staying true to the design should be pretty telling, just sayin. Also, modding is against ToS, so i'd remove that link.

You make it sound as if you've bought the item, expecting it to be dyeable and only found out after the purchase that it isnt.
You are fully aware that those gear cant be dyed so obviously you can make the choice not to spend money on it - but its not "There is no excuse for it" if you know beforehand what you get for your money and still decide to spend it.

And I do care wether or not "free" gear is dyeable or not (its not "free" - we're paying a sub for content and that includes new gear aswell)...

the carbuncle gear is dyeable. :P

in all seriousness they do state flat out which ones are and are not dyeable, and sometimes thats due to the choices of the gear.

and i see your view on the "wouldnt be true to the character's design" argument and raise you this. it is part of a concept art that they have rolled with, even y'sthola's heavens ward gear in the new Dissidia does not change much if at all in colour meaning they are very adamant to keep the colour what it is. while yes it would be nice to change the colour, some designs are made for the purpose of staying that colour. like aymric's armour being blue and gold fits the role the armour is meant to be in, if people dyed it red and black it wouldn't be aymric's armour. while it is a crap answer it is the one that they will stick to.

edit: to go on with the aymric's thing lyses red coat is also meant to have a meaning behind it the colour red being prevalent though-out stormblood, so the colour choice is meant to be thematic. dying the coat then removes the theme associated with the jacket.

I'm.. not sure how you got that from the OP.

OP:"Please make stuff on the mogstation dyable"

you:"the terms are right there, you should read them!"

I'd like the stuff I actually paid extra money to attain to have some more customization. ... and maybe be able to be stored in the Armoire. That'd be nice.

I do want everything to be dyeable as well, especially considering the insane prices they're selling some of the outfits for. It's definitely a 'don't like it, don't buy it' sort of situation. However while it's speculative, I have no doubt more people would buy the NPC clothing if there was the chance to customize how it looks. Which in the long run would see a better return for the effort SE puts in to rig the clothing across all races.

Eventually (cross your fingers), Lyse's dancer outfit will be available for purchase on Mog Station but I don't need that to be dyeable. Keeping it faithful to the Stormblood theme is more important.

I'll give you my vote, OP. Glamour being the true endgame is what leads me to think how important is to have more dyable gear. Specially if you're paying for it separately.
