Level Reset

Hi there~!
I haven't visited the forums in an age, so just wanted to drop in and ask the community team a question~

My current character has been with me since 1.0 release - I was one of the folks that started ARR with everything leveled (except ACN since that was just introduced!). At first I thought this was great since I was able to just jump right in and explore as soon as the servers were live.
Over the years, I've come to find that I missed out on the new adventurer excitement, and I was tempted to start working on an alt... only there was something that stood in my way.

I'd have nothing.
None of my achievements, none of the mounts/minions I'd either earned or bought on the mogstation that weren't account wide (those mounts that are account-wide are very few and far between....), and none of the glamour items/hairstyles too that aren't cheap... those $15~20 sets add up... (I just love the Y'shtola hair!)

So it got me (and my fiance... and even my FC thinking... so it was a lot of thinking!)

Would there be a way to reset our classes to level 1, and reset our quest progression?
If we can't transfer things like mounts and glamour items to other characters on our account, I think that allowing us to reset our characters would be the next best step...kinda.
Even if it was made a paid service so that the likelihood of it being abused was decreased, I would honestly be all for it, and I know there's at least a few others out there that would appreciate it too (though I'm unsure how the community as a whole would feel; I can't speak for 'em).
[Small sidenote: Would love to keep inventory etc intact, but just wipe the slate clean on quest and level progression]

EDIT: Some have mentioned keeping quest reset and level reset separate from each other- I like this idea too! It would make it a bit more enticing for those that just want to xp, or those that just want storyline/sidequests.

I'm excited to see more ideas!


To the folks that would reply "But you can level an alt! You get 8 characters per server~!" I know, I know... But until those 8 characters per server get access to everything extra that I had bought, or even my shiny legacy tattoo I will feel like my character could never be my main. It'd always irk me, and I'm not willing to shell out over $100 to re-buy things that I believe should have been account-wide in the first place, but that's a topic for another time^^;;
