These are obviously just examples but I think these are great ideas for the mounts coming are way. Give us a reason to use them, to obtain them. Have a purpose for them other than getting us from point A to B that we have already discovered both on foot and on Chocobo a million times. Bring significance to each new mount with a means of assisting us to get to areas we couldn't get to with a previous mount.

I think it's an awesome idea!

Though it may not be likely implemented or designed for the current FF XIV system or 2.0 but having unique mounts for neat purposes would be neat. Reminds me of Zelda when you need a certain colored tunic or piece of gear to survive or make it across into another area. It gives the mount more of a purpose and an identity in the process.

But I don't think it will happen anytime soon. At least, not in the dev team's current plans. But hey! You never know who's listening?
