Hello!
This is just an idea I had bouncing around for quite a while now and decided to put it into words and see what you guys think!
Now this idea could work as a stand alone raid, like coil or Alex, or it could be worked into the gold saucer as a battle hall, or even used in the Uldah coliseum. Allow me to explain.
The ultros fight was amazing, as was gilgamesh, the idea of fighting older games foes always hits the nostalgia nerve, and the latest raid, omega, is no exception. However there's a few foes I'd be dying to fight, that have not seen their full potential in game.
Now set aside the big bads, I know half the players would kill to fight Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Kefka etc, but these hold much bigger story or raid potential. I'm talking about the smaller fights. A place to fight bosses that don't fall into the primal or storyline boxes. All with cool loot and, possibly, housing items like cups or trophies for their completion.
I'd love to fight a proper Don Tonberry, the ff8 style one. Where he drops bowls on people's heads to stun them. Maybe he sets smaller tonberrys on raid members and you have to nuke them down before they get close enough to DOINK! one hit ko the tethered team mate. This links to karma - a stacking debuff on those who damaged the adds, so the same people can't take two sets of adds in a row. You have chefs knife as a cleave or tank buster, and everybody's grudge for a raid wide AoE. All the drops could be based on tonberrys knife and lantern, with a glamourable vanity crown drop, because who doesn't want a fancy little crown?
I'd also like to fight a proper cactuar or a fat chocobo or chocomog, and Malboro. By utilising this coliseum you can also open up the idea of limited time fights with guest enemies, daily bosses, difficulty modes, and the ability for the devs to throw in any fights they couldn't fit in anywhere else.
So what do you say? Interested?
