Experiences may vary :/ Had plenty of S-ranks and world FATEs throughout the years where I'd show up just late enough to not get full credit and some where I was able to even solo. Last Ixion I made it to, was solo as rdm and got gold for a 5-6 minute fight. For larger servers, unless you're an active hunter you most likely won't get wind of an A or S rank until it's already been pulled anyway

Typhon is a Japanese server, the JP community doesn't follow the same community guidelines as the western community. Ask people in your FC how your server deals with hunt invites and hunt calls.

I've solo'd some and didn't receive as much credit so your analysis is wrong

    It's a server-by-server basis.

On Balmung, my old home of 2 years, all hunting groups formed via PF. Shouting for an invite would only be met with "PF" or "check PF".

On Zalera, it's all done by shout spam for inv once you are in the zone where the hunt is located.

Both methods have advantages and disadvantages, but neither method is wrong.

I can vouch for this as well....in a lot of Western communities, if you are not in a hunt linkshell, best bet is to check the PF first. I know on Siren, there's usually one up for the S ranks and world bosses. If there's no PF up and there are people gathering, either ask for an invite or make a PF yourself - I usually get a decent amount of people joining up if I start a PF

So back to my title. Why?
I was there dpsing the entire time, didnt die, why the hell are we FORCED to join parties...
I would think the answer should be obvious. You only get credit for the damage you did. Parties SHARE credit.....so you vs many....many wins.
Not a game issue...its an obvious fact that you need to be in parties when your doing world fates/hunts of that magnitude. Even an party of 2 or 3 is enough.

PF is your friend. No Party? Make one...advertise...shout it out....your not the only one not in party...people will thank you for it. Guaranteed.

From my experience, full groups will tell you to look via PF. Believe it or not, this is helping. Someone is taking the time to tell you to try/use PF, which they are not obligated to by any means. This doesn't mean a PF is up, and you might have to start your own. Groups with vacancies will invite you. Basically, it doesn't hurt to do both.

You have to bear in mind that these are instances/hunts that come around every 48-72 hours, or under very certain conditions. You can't just queue up for it whenever you feel like. If you're after the drops in these FATEs, then be assertive, get your butt in a party and kick some butt.

If someone is using party finder - they cannot manually invite you. So when they say use PF..its not an insult....its called "get your ass over to PF before you run out of time"
