Well, the real developers decided it should matter, so if you want a better chance to get full contribution you should consider taking the 3 seconds worth of effort and ask for a party invite.

By that logic, should dungeons be scaled based on party size, thus allowing you to solo them? The whole purpose of FFXIV in general is group activity. They want to incentivise partying together, and that stance isn't going to change.

Threads like this makes me feel people are actually serious when they play really badly to force a 30+ minute run in the duty finder, try to advice them, then they reply with "you do not play my sub" I thought it was just a meme but people are serious apparently.
To the op, people answered why, it is because you were not in a party, that simple
im confused at this...do yoou realize how flawed the system currently is?Threads like this makes me feel people are actually serious when they play really badly to force a 30+ minute run in the duty finder, try to advice them, then they reply with "you do not play my sub" I thought it was just a meme but people are serious apparently.

Tell me..why should someone who tanks an entire S rank/Fate not get full credit simply because they were not in a party..when derpy mcbard over there used straight shot one single time in a party of 8 and went afk to go make a sandwhich and came back to full credit? thats a heavily flawed system
Responding this and your comment above, I don't see any issue with the current system.
It encourages you to group with other people if you want full credit. Not even as a tank you're guaranteed to get full credit btw. If the monster dies super fast, you won't have the chance to build enough emnity to get enough credit for it. The example you mention is an issue with every aspect of the game. People sometimes will get carried. You name it: Dungeons, trials, raids, FATEs (you can even kill stuff and move to the other FATE as people still finish the one you left), other overworld content. The only thing YOU can do is to concern about your own thing. Get a group, you'll know that most people will contribute, get the credit, thank them and leave. Easy. I don't see any issue with it.
Why is the "soloing" part so important when it's so easy to party up with others (as they are damn spamming/inviting others to do it). Specially in an MMO. Coming from old school MMOs, this request (OPs) seems silly, I'm sorry.

A MMORPG encourages people to work together for something, not soloing everything. Joining a party is not hard or talking to people. Maybe you find more fun in the dot hack series, it gives you the feel of an MMORPG while being single player.im confused at this...do yoou realize how flawed the system currently is?

I want to be able to kill everything in the game as a Miner.
Maybe we don't always get to play solo. Maybe "/shout inv pls" is your friend and makes it easy. Not like that mount's any good, breaks my Lala's arms.
I'd suggest leveling WAR or DRK for situations like this.
I don't know about gold, but I've been to get silver solo by just spamming my high enmity attacks.

What job were you? While its your choice to join a party or not, if you chose not to, you'll want to gear out and roll a tank to high level fates like ixion, as FATE contribution is based on enmity, rather than dps. Tanks can generate TONS more enmity than dps can ever generate it through aggro combo spams.
If you were on a tank, then either the fate was very populated, as the more people involved with the fate, the harder it becomes to get gold as your contribution is compared to against every other person/party there in the FATE, or if there was a minimal amount of people there, either you didn't generate enough enmity to earn higher than bronze, or if you didn't even receive bronze at all the game could have glitched.
For Ixion, getting higher than bronze is insanely tough solo, and joining a party is near-mandatory if rewards are what you want.
