I should've known I was just digging myself into a deeper hole before I posted this, because now I have an annoying impersonator and people thinking I'm some kind of creeper due to blowing things out of proportion.

From now on, I'm just going to talk with people from my server in-game about matters like this, since they can actually know I'm not the sort to stir up drama or make uneducated claims about people being bots/bot farmers and such.

EDIT: In other news, the GMs apparently got on the guy's case again, as he now changed all of the names back to something generic. I suppose I can at least be happy they can handle social issues like this properly.

From what I've seen, best way to let a thread die is to not repeatedly post in it, thus giving more posters additional reasons to quote and respond. Usually threads will die on their own unless it's a really hot topic.
