Uh... there is a question specifically tailored to what you're asking for. Did you actually read the survey or just assume pro parser was ACT?I feel like I need to reiterate that the survey is incomplete. I am pro parser with the obvious caveat that only YOUR performance be displayed to you, not anyone elses in game. For personal improvement, a parser is a valuable tool. for anything else it will be abused and we've seen it happen in other games like WoW.
I just did the survey and there's an option for a self-only parser among them, at least in the pro-parser survey.I feel like I need to reiterate that the survey is incomplete. I am pro parser with the obvious caveat that only YOUR performance be displayed to you, not anyone elses in game. For personal improvement, a parser is a valuable tool. for anything else it will be abused and we've seen it happen in other games like WoW.
On the survey note, I am curious to see how many others are like me in that they do not currently run savage/ultimate level content, yet support having a full-fledged parser available in game.
This option is in the survey included, in all 4 follow up parts.I feel like I need to reiterate that the survey is incomplete. I am pro parser with the obvious caveat that only YOUR performance be displayed to you, not anyone elses in game. For personal improvement, a parser is a valuable tool. for anything else it will be abused and we've seen it happen in other games like WoW.
It is the second last question and it includes this option, feel free to check it.
This is also a question i would want to see an answer.
It could very well be from the fact it's a bannable offense, but I so rarely see anyone specifically mention using them as a means to openly call out a player. BUT I have bumped into players talking about parse results they've gathered, and NEVER positively.
As a console player, this magical 3k threshold of being a good or bad DPS is total Greek to me.
Furthermore, it seems sketchy that any parser talk is strictly prohibited in-game, but we can freely post numbers on the forums, and it's very common to bring up players pulling "low" numbered results without specifically mentioning the low scoring player by their name. (Bypassing the "don't name and shame" rule.)
This is why I feel SE's current stance shouldn't change. The root issue is that players aren't learning proper play while leveling, but adding a grading system that only looks at damage averages feels like it's a solution to a different problem entirely, which I think is lack of feedback, not a lack of skill.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their responses thus far! It’s been almost a full week since I’ve posted this survey, and I’ve almost garnered 1,100 responses to it! ^^ Thank you guys so much! I also appreciate how the discussion in the thread has remained extremely civil between everyone. :3 The survey will remain up for one more week, and then I will take it down and start compiling the data, and getting a document prepared for everyone.
There will be two documents: one is a “tl;dr” version with just the tables/graphs, along with some brief comments, and the other will be a more in-depth talk about the data, along with my thoughts and analysis on everything. :3
Again, I really want to thank everyone that came out to respond to the survey. You guys are all great. ^^

I'm looking forward to the results and participated, thank you for compiling this!
Looking forward to the results. I do like the idea of personal parsers.
I'm pretty much indifferent when it comes to parsers, so i've just filled that survey.
I don't really care if people are using parsers or not. If they want to use it, it's fine by me. The only thing that would rub me the wrong way, would be the way that some would use it for. The moment people start using parsers to berate other peoples performance (in an nonconstructive, rude/vulgar manner), rather then come up with a way to increase the performance of the group in general (even if it means having to replace a member of the group), then they should not be using a parser altogether.
Just, keep it civil...
When playing in groups, we should be supporting one another so that we can clear any obstacle thrown in our path, rather then sawing the legs of a chair while the person is still sitting on it. Throwing about comments like "Your dps sucks, go uninstall" (slightly exaggerated).
Credit goes to Niqo'te for her fabulous art in the "Nique's happy fun time!"-thread and Nix/Capa for the Caitlyn drawing to the right. \(^_^ )/
Give her your support by liking their art!
