Game settings no longer save after backup.

My PC crashed the other day and had to reinstall windows. after installing ffxiv and my backed up settings (my documents/my games/final fantasy xiv), any changes i make in game are reverted back to how they were before the crash. i tried looking for another solution but all i found was to remove all the Read Only attributes from the folder but that did not work as all settings (hotbars, HUD, sound, graphics, macros, glamour changes, retainers and venture timers, inventory sort-meant, and character settings) will not save.

I believe i may have found a fix for this issue.
I backed up my games save data (Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn) then deleted all files,
except for the folders example: (FFXIV_CHR#Numbers#) and then launched my games client.
Signed in with my square-enix id, password and onetime key as if i was installing again or adding an expansion then clicked play.
once in the game i had to make some minor changes to screen resolution, character lighting and then sound.
all my macros and hotbars and other data is intact and after making a small change and logged out then in again. the new changes saved like they should have.

Good to know. This is sure to help others in the future. Thanks for following up with your thread on the working solution you've found. I can be found here often trying to give tech support. I will dedicate this issue and fix to memory for future applications. Thanks again for following up with your post.
