    End Game Worth?

As the title suggests; is the end game worth it? Is the content that good that it's justifiable of 'farming' it to get your gear? Yes, there's always a form of repetition in MMORPGS, but for me, the gameplay is what drives me. Yes, so far the story is good in Heavensward (haven't touched SB as yet), but I found myself taking a break and going to run ARR EX Trials just to boost me a bit.

This is entirely up to the person. If all you do is "Savage" content, your going to be somewhat limited. However, seeing as though you aren't done with HW and haven't even started SB, you have a lot of EX primals and dungeons left to do in both expansions. You have quite a lot of content left to go through. Enjoy the ride and take the detours where you want (like crafting/gathering or the real endgame, Glamour) you wont be bored anytime soon.

Cliff notes: for you, I think its still very much worth it.

As someone that did the whole endgame situation during 2.0 and 2.1 and then took a break from the hardcore scene, i would say that the Endgame content is worth it if you get a good group (read: fun to play with and has the same goals in mind as you) or a good FC with a likeminded pool of players.

That being said, it also depends on how selfish you are as a player. If your out for Numero Uno only and not willing to do lower end stuff then the end game is short lived. If you have fun doing older stuff with the people you have met over the course of gameplay, the possibilities are literally endless.

You can also do the real endgame, Titan HM minimum iLvl in a pug.

Farming content for gear is not my thing, I prefer thinking it as farming gear for content. But everyone is different. Ultimate Coil weapons are still a display of skill, if that's what drives you. Gameplay-wise there are some really fun fights in the game, but also boring ones where you just move from a position to another with little variation. If you enjoy ARR ex trials, there is more of that at higher levels.

Fun wise, it's worth it. Gear wise, we all know that every 6 months the end-game gear will be obsolete. The first 3 of these 6 months, you have exclusive access to high level gear, then everyone else can get it from the 24-man raids (in form of upgrade items). If you don't care about min-maxing stats, that's it.

In your situation, for a full experience,

-ARR/HW Primals: I'd advice you to gather like-minded players and run these sync'd at level 50 and 60 respectively. Otherwise it's just a 1 minute and a half faceroll where you won't see almost any mechanic.

-The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Sadly they nerfed almost every encounter in the first 2 tiers (Except for BCOB turn 5 and SCOB turn 4). The third tier only got echo.
-The Mechanical Fortress - Alexander: This is going to be A DAMN PAIN to run sync'd because of how complex some fights are.

-SB primals: As they are now, some are facerolleable and some are still a pain. Since you're in the HW expansion still, I'll not say anything else to avoid spoilers.
    -SB raids: Just.do.it.

SCOB 4 is still the most epic fight in the game. And thanks to the meteor phase it will never be a faceroll no matter how much you outlevel it. If even one person does not know what's going on, you wipe.

Imo, it depends mostly on how you approach the endgame and how you approach MMOs in general. Taking down Extreme Primals and the Savage content is essentially the endgame here, so if you've never walked into those you're gonna hit a sharp learning curve. I can't speak for doing previous expansions raids though, I did them all while they were current and never went back.

You're gonna have to define "End Game," because most of the things listed here so far wouldn't typically qualify.

If end game = relevant lv70 content, then: It depends on how skilled you are and what your tolerance for pain and suffering is. At any given time you'll have 4 Raid bosses and kinda-sorta 1 EX Primal that you can progress on. The Raid has a weekly lockout restriction and an obnoxious loot system. If you get into a solid group and make progression steadily, it's not uncommon to just repeat the 4 fights once a week and leave it at that insofar as end game is concerned. If your group has trouble progressing, you'll spend however many weeks or months clearing the 1~3 fights you have on farm once a week and spend the rest of your time wiping to the same mechanic or two until/if your entire party can perform their dance properly. Almost every fight in XIV is completely scripted; bosses will do the exact attack, at an exact time, and the only variance will be whether your group can do enough damage to skip some attacks or mechanics.

None of the gear you get from a raid tier will be terribly relevant for use in the next tier. If you're serious about raiding, you'll replace all the gear with crafted gear 10 ilvls higher than it on Day 1 for extra HP/attack/defense, meld it up, and use that for progression instead. Which will then get replaced by the new raid gear where and when appropriate.

If end game = all 50, 60 and 70 content, then: It can be fun to do fights synced, but you'll possibly pull your hair out trying to get 8 people with appropriate roles together that want to do it and even then those people may only want to clear any given fight once that way. Doing 50- and 60-era content is generally a faceroll, though the Raids from those tiers - especially 60-era Raids - can still be incredibly difficult due to mechanics.

If end game = all content available, then: Yeah, probably. You've got ~4 years worth of content you can go around an experience, and there's tons of fluff/side stuff to muck about with.

The mechanics itself and the challenge savage content and raids bring is what piques my interest to 1000. The only unfortunate part is looking for a group of like minded individuals such as myself. Ones who are patient and willing to teach, because truthfully, I'm not all about toxicity, as it's quite contagious. That's coming from a league player lol.
