I, personally, like some uniqueness to classes. I wouldn't necessarily mind plate for casters but I think they should have a plate specifically for casters instead of just unlocking all gear for any job. Just like I think tanks and dps should be able to have light and medium sets specifically tailored for them as well.

Also why I don't mind job locks on purely glamour gear either and I feel there should be way more job specific gear.

The aversion to paying money for things you want always confuses me.

Because there is already a monthly sub and all they ever do is reskin each patch anyway. If we had a steady flow of new and innovative content or at least any deviation from the box we live in I would be more than happy to throw them a few extra bucks now and then.

And Yoshi can talk all he wants about how new and sparkly Eureka will be, but I will believe it when I see it, as a legacy player, I have been burned before, multiple times.

That's a pretty gross over generalization. We got new gear for the last raid and dungeon, even if I don't like it.. it was new. Expecting constant fresh content (brand new models and options) every single (large) patch is unrealistic.

Eureka sounds interesting, I'm more excited about 4.2 housing availability, glamour changes and other goodies... and I think there's more gear there too for the new dungeon. I agree we need to wait till it actually drops though, we don't know what is coming till it's actually here.. so why be so negative about it?

I mean, they already sell outfits and other various "basic game features" like emotes in the mogstation and have been doing so for years. I don't see the problem with asking for a set of glamour I'd actually want to spend money on for once.

Would love more native plate armor or cloth/armor sets for casters that aren't just All Jobs already. This is still a hang up the devs have about jobs being recognizable despite the options already available for glamour and I hope they get over it sooner rather than later.

And as for people asking for stuff to be put in the mog station, as I said in another thread this is pretty much learned behavior at this point that if we tell SE "hey i'll throw you another 5-12 bucks if you make this thing I want" that they might prioritize it.

When are they going to add decent options to use plate gear for casters/healers? There are plenty of different options for tanks/dps from plate armor to dresses, so why are casters limited to just dresses and robes? Players have the option to use bikinis and chocobo suits on their tank so don't tell me a healer would look "out of place" in something like the i250 tank crafted set. I would even spend actual money if they just reskinned tank sets like allagan or gordian for healers/casters and put them in the mogstation.

There is a very basic plate armor set that any class can use on the mog station. It's called Legacy Warrior Attire, is dyeable, and looks like this:

the legacy set from moonfire faire 2(?) years ago is plate mail and on mog station now.
and the genji sets are like samurai armor

only really heavy armor looking things i can think of for healer/caster

definitely a ton of light stuff for all to use though

Why only older sets? Anything not job specific should be glam fodder for all jobs.

There is almost no chance someone will actually try to equip darklight gear on their job for actual use making it nothing but glamour at this time. Where as if they remove class restrictions on sets that could actually be relevant to a player at any given time would cause issues we had in the past with accessories where people were equipping things just to meet ilvl requirements when it offers almost no performance benefit to the job they are using.

It's one thing if it's a new glam set. But they mentioned taking existing gear, changing to all classes and putting Mog.
