I guess I feel like the meme-y voice lines kind of take me out of the world a little. Until Sloppeh, for example, I took <spoiler> as a serious threat, and was very interested. Once I heard it, he became a joke.

You sound uptight, the voiced lines made the battles way more memorable for me.

It wasn't a meme when it was written. Don't worry about what might or might not become a meme in the future. Just focus on having the best experience in the game possible. Personally I'm a big fan of the boss voice lines. Besides adding some flavor and some life to the boss, it also provides a nice audio cue for what's about to happen.

I'm still here waiting on getting Ifrit voiced, which hasn't been heard since the beginning trailers for ARR. :/
If I die, forgive me. I used to be a Dragoon.

No fun allowed.
You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
As someone who finds audio cues really helpful, I would love to have more bosses voiced. The noises often get drowned out, but it's easier to pick out voice lines in a fight.

I have to agree about the voices becoming audio cues for moves, and liking them. Argath in Rabanastre has certain phrases that almost guarantee what his next move is, especially when it comes to his “judgement” move.
That and who doesn’t chuckle when they make an error on the battlefield and all you can hear is that voice in your head, yelling out “Sloppeh!!”

Egh, depends.
It's nice to allow the boss a say every now and again, but if they use it on abilities they regularly rotate, it gets annoying just as fast as those people that macro their OGCD abilities with a RP line and sound effect >_>

one of the reasons I like World of Final Fantasy so much is because they had dub in every line in the game, every random NPC. Have to mention the good story, good soundtrack too, but having dub in everything was something excellent, that game was a masterpiece imo.
Ok I can understand this game need deal with 4 languages, but still...

Some battles would definitely benefit from it. Nabriales, for example, desperately needs it.
I don't think -all- battles should be dubbed, but major story battles moving forward would be nice. Especially when they hint at specific mechanics (like what should have been done with Nael, or what was done with Susano).
