I know yoshi-p stated he wanted to do an original class. I also know he stated he was thinking of 5.0 taking place in garlemald (at least I heard he said that) so I think the next job should be a legate/officer type class. Something like Nero and baelsar. Personally I think it'd make a good tank and utilize wrist guns/gunblade and maybe have a similar playstyle to red mage but opposite. So using melee to build a heat/bullet gauge to then on the gunfire. Itd also be a good excuse to finally give us some of that sexy armor.

I think Yoshi had told Famitsu in 2016 (I think) that it wouldn't be until the distant future (a.k.a. when pet controls can finally be fixed).

Also OP, as far as I can tell, nothing has been confirmed by Yoshi for 5.0 as far as location goes. That being said, that Legate idea doesn't sound too bad for a starting concept.

Currently ATM I feel there are a few things that could fill out our current job roster.

Tank jobs that deal piercing or blunt damage. Could use 1handed pike + shield, 1h Warhammer + shield, 2h warmaul
A heavy melee DPS job to share medium armor with DRG. Maybe using a scythe, gunblade as either the 1h version or the 2 handed bastardbluss seen used by one of the bosses in HW.
Another melee DEX based DPS to share armor with NIN. Possibly adding another blunt damage user using a battle pole or tonfa
Melee range healer that utilizes both MP and TP. Maybe dancer like others have been asking for.
An actual Melee range mage. Everyone thought RDM would be this but its mostly a ranged caster that dives in sometimes for a melee combo.
A ranged physical DPS/support that doesn't use piercing damage.
