You need to get good. I don’t mash buttons nor do I miss my ogcd’s. It isn’t latency or animation lock. The window to press your ogcd is in the first half then the second half of the spinning wheel on your actions during the recast. Go practice on a dummy and get good.

If you want to use an item, it’s always in the last third of the wheel. But if you used an ogcd, then you can’t use an item. The rules are consistent and predictable. It isn’t “hidden” just because your eyes are closed.

This should be the quote in everything lol! as it seems to be used everywhere. latency does play a small role, not sure in the OP's case but the time it takes for the server to register your press to when it actually happens and see it can pose a problem when sed players with 50ms can get in 9gcd's but a player with 180ms + can only get in 6 per say.

But I guess it depends on the play style of the person.

No, Square needs to fix the fact that they've literally the only AAA MMO that has this issue in this day and age. You can play any other MMO while using an artificial ping inflation tool to crank yours up to 2,000ms and the game still buffers and your inputs as you send them. Meanwhile, others in this thread have noted the difference between being on the east and west coasts of the US, which is only 20-50ms more, yet it affects how they play.

By "git gud", you mean "move west". I could either do that or...

I'm waiting for the day that servers start crashing and someone on the "SE Defense Force" insists that the servers are supposed to crash, it's working as intended, and that we all need to "get good and adapt to the servers being down".

    Sigh...

Last I checked, whining and complaining about it still won't improve your DPS as much as simply adapting to the situation will. Yes, there are issues when it comes to the servers, but in this one particular circumstance, this is one that players can overcome by tweaking their rotations and timing, and the reason why the "git gud" line keeps coming up is that because good players know they have the ability to adapt and adjust their gameplay rather than whine about it.

Now if you REALLY wanted to gripe about latency issues, I'd recommend checking out most Korean games, especially Blade & Soul, or the more appropriate name for it, Ping & Salt. Might be worth it since it seems like you still spend less time playing the game than griping about it.

How do you know that they're mashing buttons because of game responsiveness rather than some other factor like excitement or the controllers are worn-out and less responsive than they may have been before? Just by looking at a livestream, there's not really much way that you'd be able to know.

This is what gets said every time a QoL change is suggested, and it'd getting tedious.

Can we work around it? Maybe.

Should we have to? Absolutely not.

This is a thread suggesting that the UI could and should function better than it currently does.

"But you can work around it!" is not a counterargument to that, especially when suggesting that it can be "worked around" is admitting that a problem DOES exist and the system in question could be made to function better.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be an issue to "work around" in the first place.

I like to think Yoshi-P and co are smart enough to not use worn-out controllers that may be unreliable on a livestream.
