    Comradery

Is there any reason we used "comradery" instead if camaraderie? I know it's technically correct, but it's kind of like when people talk about the many fishes in a lake. It may be correct according to the dictionaries, but I can't help cringing every time I hear it.

I imagine that for every person out there who cringes at the current spelling, there is someone who cringes at the alternative, myself included.

In addition to this personal preference, there was also a modicum of rationale behind my choosing Comradery over Camaraderie. For those who are unaware, this is the name of the status buff given when in a light party (4-7 members), granting enhanced HP, MP, and accuracy. That is, it is a buff given when grouped with comrades. I'm of the belief that this implication is made a bit clearer with the current spelling, and all the more so for anyone who might not be familiar with the word.

It also maintained consistency, insignificant as it may have been, with the lancer's Comrade in Arms ability. Of course I realize there is no alternate spelling possible here, and it was probably nothing more than OCD kicking in. And with that terminal preposition, and this next one, I'm out.

Thanks a lot! It kind of makes sense when you point out the comrade/comradery bit. I always forget that English steals camaraderie from French, but not camarade. I'm pretty sure I've written the latter in papers for English class. Actually, I know I have. I had a big red mark slapped across one of my papers for it. >.>
