*insert obligatory 'U DNT PAY MY SUB!!1' response here*

But honestly I feel like I take the rare tidbits of valuable criticism I get ingame pretty seriously considering how rare they are. I'm not amazing but I'm also not god awful so I tend to pass under this radar more often than not, especially on healer.

I've learned so much more from people on the forums/discord than I ever have in-game it doesn't even compare.

I have seen some people throw out what they might believe to be helpful advice in-game but it's usually actually rather poor. I Cure III'd stack markers in Shinryu normal once and had my cohealer tell me to use Medica instead... Silly stuff like that makes me wonder how seriously I should really be taking those things.

Just surround yourself with good people/players. FC, friends from real life, and take advice that's given to you. There is always someone happy enough to show you how to play, or tell you what you do wrong in a kind way. I always give instructions when I see a new player, and if they do something stupid I will let them know how they could fix it. If they are stubborn enough to not listen, then they are harming themselves.

Likewise, the person who is mean while communicating about errors of others is hurting themselves the most by acting like a moron.

Tbh, I have never been criticized in game. Ever. I'm not even joking. Probably because I don't really talk to people, play in fcs or do Savage. In reality, I am my worst critic (I am a 3D artist so ofc I am :P ). I did plan on doing Savage (I had beat O1S once) but on one party finder I put together for O1S we just could never beat the enrage timer. Obviously something was wrong so I went ahead and attempted SSS with RDM and discovered that I just could not beat the timer on that dummy for O1S. I was pretty discouraged so I went ahead and asked for advice here on what I was doing wrong, even recorded a video and posted on YouTube just for the sole reason of taking criticism. While all the advice and criticism was nice and helpful, I still sucked and never did improve so I stopped playing RDM and now play WHM. I still don't get criticized, even if I make a mistake, but my playing as WHM I feel fits me better than RDM ever did.

But uhm TL;DR, I take criticism, sometimes crave it because I'm a 3D artist, its my job to take it lol. I will listen, if its good criticism I take it to heart. If its bad or not constructive at all or its rude just to incite drama, I ignore it and tell the other person to piss off. :P

Not many people can take criticism well and even fewer can dish it out in a productive and measured way.

It just kind of snowballs from there really.

Personally, I've always been of the mentality that if one person states I'm doing something stupid, I'll look into it and see if I can adjust to keep things smooth, but I'll not likely care enough to take it to heart. If multiple people say the same thing, then it's increasingly likely that they have a legitimate point and I need to address what it is that I'm doing wrong.

Can you take criticism of paragraph usage? Or lack of?

I beat myself up over my mistakes and take it pretty hard. Tho in this game most of what I think are mistakes people are like shocked and tell me it's fine. I had one person hug me when I was trying to tank and I lost arggo on one mob. I spamed unleased like a million times in panic and they lol. I do tend to ask if I'm doing stuff good bad etc.

I'm my own worst critic, so any criticism I get from my static I take pretty well. The idea of completely tuning out or ignoring criticism is mind boggling to me.

Its all about how one gives/receives criticism. When it comes to online stuff, I have noticed that people tend to prefer to treat others with condescension and not respect. If someone comes to me and gives me feedback (even better if they give tips aswell) in a respectful manner, then I will be open to receiving their feedback, because I understand that they want to see me improve, which inturn means my team improves aswell. Sadly alot of people prefer to call someone *swear word* and demean them.

As for me, I used to deal low damage, I was new and not used to DPS classes (I prefer healing), so my friend who noticed it, asked me to meet near one of those dummies and gave me feedback in mature manner, like how a teacher gives feedback to a student. Part of me felt bad, because I sucked at doing my job in the group, but this friend gave me a nice pep talk, then he gave me tips. I took his feedback and improved myself. I reckon if my friend came to me and demeaned me and then gave me tips, I would probably not followed his advice.

Afcourse there are those that wont accept the feedback, even if the sender gives feedback in a respectful manner, with those players nothing else can be done, you either kick them out or ignore and deal with it.
