[Dev ????] - Put mining/fishing/logging nodes on mini map

Just as topic suggests, I like the off hand nodes appearing on the mini map but all too often as I run around looking for nodes (mostly by bloodshore) the sparkles on the trees become hidden by the brush in front of them and I pass them by. This leads to a bit more time running around looking for the node as I spam my arbor call wondering where is this thing. Simply adding logging/mining/fishing nodes to the minimap would go a long way in less wasted time and more gathering.

Two concerns that might be raised include : too much clutter on minimap. No problem, just add a filter to the mini map to remove different points. This can be put off till 2.0. Another concern would be arbor call(and other like abilities) loosing their usefulness. To this I say the minimap only shows nodes within 40~ or so yalms so those abilities still hold great value when you're far away.

    .
Both primary and secondary gathering nodes are tab-selectable. When you're less than a few dozen yalms from the node, hit tab a few times (or right/left D-pad if you're using a controller) to get the node selected, with a nice big cursor on it. You can even proceed to start collection by then hitting enter/confirm if you're only a yalm or two away.

I will not sign this, as I feel it will make gathering way too easy, even more easy for people with gathering classes lower than that of the search ability. People are already going to areas which I would call too high for them, don't make it easier.

Lower classes going to a grade too early really isn't an issue. If you level isn't high enough and your gathering stat too low you'll never be able to obtain what you're after at that node anyway until you rank up. Prime example was doing electrum ore at 25 last week at wells. I rarely was able to get a swing at electurm and when I was 70% of the time I damaged it and was unable to obtain it. Even doing cobalt ore at rank 31 in cedarwood is pretty fruitless. Tie in the fact that if you're boosting gathering you probably have no output and maybe get 3-4 attempts at a node. Personally I move to the next grade up 8 ranks before I get that ability. There's no way I'm going to grind an area getting less than 200 xp per swing.

As for being able to target the ??? while running around, I do find that useful but all too often (at least for botany) I find a harvest point next to a logging point and end up getting confused/running past/etc because I thought that was just a harvest point. For mining half the time I can't target the ??? because it's on the other side of a small cliff or ledge which for whatever reason is untargetable unless I'm in front of it.

Duno, was just a suggestion. I figured if you're within 40 yalms of a node it should pop on your map. Would just make gathering a bit easier/less tedious.

    No. Please no.
It's not hard finding the nodes if you are the right rank to be there.
I do wish that some nodes were not so far apart. coughhalitalicough
The thing I hate the most is when n00bs are in an area way above them to get 500exp for a fail and they collapse my node just when hand of the gods procs.
    So again no.

I am of the same opinion as AmandaHuggenkiss.
The only way regular nodes could appear on the minimap would be through the use of the scouting skill like Arbor Call. The last node Arbor Call points to could appear on the minimap, but that's about it.

They put the secondary nodes on the mini-map because we don't have abilities to look for them, if we had abilities, I would ask for their removal of the mini-map.

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

Agreed with Nakiamiie, only the one you scouted last should appear on the minimap, this help your purpose Crstycaptin and solve the "too much icones on the mini map" problem.

I actually like that arbor call > icon on map for that location idea. Would help locate the nodes in new areas but only help those that have the ability so as not to upset the rest of the higher levels.

"Lay of the Arbor Douse" -> mini map is a good idea.
