Glamour Restrictions

I would like glamour restrictions to be lifted eventually for roles! Not the class specific stuff, they can have their own things if it really bothers people. Just the generic gear.

Optimally, I'd really like anything to be glamourable by any other class, regardless of role/DoW/DoM. I'd be pretty down for DoM being universal for DoM or DoW for DoW.

Just my thoughts! Really like the idea of armored mages or paladin/knight sorts that wear robes. Then again I really enjoy books as weapons! Haha

Personally, my stance is the only things that should stay restricted is artifact/relic gear. Everything else should be able to be glamoured however you wish.

It'd be nice if you could glamour it as long as you have these jobs leveled though. However, if they want to keep the jobs' identity, they may as well remove the reestriction from generic gear (dungeon gear, GC gear, certain tome gear). This thread pops every now and then, I don't remember if we got an official response concerning the conditions for it to happen, besides the identity thing.

I thought of it because they mentioned in the last letter that it is gonna still be there for the new glamour content. I'm hoping they are including the note because they are at least considering changing it! :]

I'm also on the team of "Let us glamour everything!".

With how the game is currently, it just makes little sense to keep things so restricted. As it is, SE themselves tend to recycle gear that was previously released for one job type, slap a new color on the thing, and then release it on a newer patch for a new set of jobs. Bikinis, snowmen, chocobos, event costumes, wedding dresses, and countless other fun/silly items exist, so I don't think there is a leg to stand on if ever lore or immersion is argued.

I might be ok with keeping the level restriction but I agree - if you have a job unlocked and leveled enough for that gear piece, you should be able to glamour it across jobs. It's not like your character stops being that job at that level if you're wearing a different soul crystal, and most gear pieces also include the base classes so you can't even say you have to have a different soul crystal to wear the thing - every run of the mill ACN can wear it, so why can't you even if you're a DRG?

I'm hoping they at least address this part of it with the upcoming glamour changes in this next patch. However, this being SE, I'm expecting something insanely complicated and not entirely thought out. lol ><

The Chinese version, for instance, has level 1 DoL/DoH gear that you can glamour with any job afaik. It's in the cash shop though. So, if they want to do it, they can do it.

Oh gawd. Please no more things like this in the cash shop. The gear is already in game. The glamour system is in game. Just make it work D:
