To begin, this new system has excelled on grabbing me back into game-play. Unlike FFXI a player does not need 20 mil gill to accomplish getting a craft to a decent level. In this system a player can be isolated and do just fine. Communities / Linkshells are formed for chatter, for crafting help, for quest assistance and some low man events. You may be asking what am i getting at exactly.
[Besieged and the community] For readers who played FFXI do you remember Besieged? A full party of 16 random people getting together to take down some crazy boss, to defend the town so you can keep the exp bonuses in the area? I'm simple asking for the staff to look into designing events that random people can join together in a party and have a enjoyable time. In FFXI besieged gave experience and was used to level up your weapon skill. Maybe a similar event in creation could give experience and possible company points.
[Build your dungeon] In FFXI in Jueno there was a build your own dungeon system that was actually quite fun. The experience was steady and attuned to your level, and you had bits and pieces you could by to expand it. A revival of this would be quite amusing. While not a endgame event nor not really of any utter importance or priority, the build your own dungeon was a fun link-shell or community event. Maybe the owner can put Gil in the chest and have the list available server wide from the market ward. Then players can see Paul put 150k gill to the group who can defeat [Maze][Max monster level][Boss:true/false] etc. It would bring some more life into the city shouts.
[Trading system woes] I made my friend a spear +1 i tested it out myself, now i cannot trade it to him. I view this as a hindrance, why can i not trade a item at 99%. For someone who parties with friends and trades gear around quite often, i believe going to a npc to repair should be good enough to trade. Or to do a middle road, you should be able to pay a nominal fee higher to a npc to get to 100% for trading purposes.
[View Distance and actually playing] I play on a high quality laptop, running this game perfectly fine. However for those who aren't as fortunate, i feel you should include a draw distance option in the game and/or the config. A majority of the GPU is being used rendering the mountains or grass that is honestly several minutes away. While this would take away from the look of the game, you would save peoples gpu's and large events will not be a lag fast or at least not as bad.
[Archer Fix] Archer needs an option or a command to auto-shoot light shot. This auto switch would take priority over the smack attack unless your arrows = 0. I feel that my #1 key would really appreciate it. Let alone my Pinky is getting some serious muscle.
[Helpful Commands]
/sea all JOB LV Range ex: /sea all THM 25-30
reasoning: Shouting for parties is really mundane, a global search should be available and quick without struggling through the menu interface.
/examine
ex: /examine <t>
reasoning: Once again a quick command would be nice instead of going through the menu system. I play this game on a laptop, using the trackpad. I have the menu set to Control+M and then i have to go through that or use the mouse to click in the bottom right to examine. Lets make things quicker please.
/afk
ex: /afk
reasoning: To show that you are unavailable at the moment. In particular would be useful if integrated to the Linkshell. A players name in red means they are afk. Possible a symbol to the right of their name. Or Name color change to red temporarily.
[Changing Chat tab Freeze] Whenever you change chat tabs, ex i have battle and LS. If i switch a tab immanently my character stops moving for several seconds then i can resume. Please correct this, it is quite annoying for someone who needs to check the chat frequently.
