Seems like we get more into from Reinheart then the actual NA reps. I'm sure though the NA reps can't control what they are and are not allowed to post..but still, its like as if the devs choose to respond much more to the JP side.

Jennestia, that's a cough out and you know it. They they can post in English just as fast as they can in Japanese. For the most part I would say that they want to see how the players in Japan respond first before us in Canada, UK, USA, ECT. More so in Canada and the USA since we tend to be more vocal, and expect more. So it's best to see how the Japanese fans respond, and then go from there with there updates and make needed changes before the mass release.

SE's development team is Japanese, which means it's much more likely they'll be posting in Japanese as it's their native language -- Blizzard's development team are NA based, which means they'll be posting in English most likely, no?

Rein does a good job at translating so it's not like people are in the dark about what's being said, a lot of stuff devs post are generally insignificant to the grand scheme of things, but actual information gets translated by the appropriate reps just as quickly.

The dev team is Japanese but they are an international company selling a product to an international install base. The idea that it is OK to give more attention (imagined or real) to one section of the playerbase is nonsense and to excuse them of it is a joke. It's also ridiculous that you think it's all fine becuase a customer translates in his own time. What a joke.

There is an MMO on the market which I've played, didn't like much and didn't stick with it, but their communication is on another level. They release all posts for all EU languages at the same time, a big dev blog post at least once a week and sometimes twice. When there is maintenance, they make a thread on the forums telling people what day, what time and for how long. Once maint begins they post in the thread to let people know the details like rebooting now blah blah computer talk etc etc.

I like FFXIV, love it, but the idea that Square Enix has good or even acceptable levels of communication in today's market is frankly a joke. Stop excusing it, you're not helping.

It's getting better and I'll give you that one, the live letters are pretty awesome, but what about the smaller updates? SE blow their loads on a live letter when they should be dripping it out on a steady basis. It's only really psychology in a way, that the player base will probably feel better informed and more catered towards with constant smaller updates. When there is not too much to be going on with in game, IMO it's what is needed to keep people happy and feeling like there is always something to look forward to. It would probably also put a stop to these threads.

Eh I have no issues with most dev posts coming from the Japanese side of the forums, we get translations from Rein or others if it hangs too long.

I'd rather them post the information in Japanese first, than wait to post it everywhere. Perfect world we wouldn't need to wait for any translations at all but we don't live in a perfect world do we?

Exactly. With 1.21 coming next month, why the hell aren't SE making a post every 5 days or so introducing one of the jobs? Remember those WS videos dropped into the forums, all out of context? What the hell SE? You could have saved them and shown 1 WS in each introduction, given us some info on the job, a bit of lore for the people that are into that. Dont give away anything big, just give us enough to speculate on and give us something to talk about when we log on, build the hype. This is such a simple thing, it's marketing 101 no? I think they've put all there chips on vr 2.0, and couldn't care about us that are left playing the game right now
