Questions for the second lore book

I'm not sure if even the corrected edition of the lore book is here or not, but it IS obvious that we will get a second lorebook. It was before Stormblood came out after all.

What I propose is for us to gather questions we want answered in Volume II or later.

    Just to give examples:

How common is it for dead people to be impersonated by their hot blonde sisters?
    It happened twice already.

What was the full name of Eula Darnus?
She had to have some kind of title.

Why is it that visitors from Othard tend to be unfamiliar with chocobos when there are plenty running around in Dalmasca?

What actually happened with the Hotgo and why are they not painted?

    What are Kami exactly?
They don't seem like Primals in the Kojin quest and everyone in Othard and Hingashi seem to worship them

Can we get more lore on Tamamo-no-Gozen and Mizukume?

Does Zantetsuken really come from Othard/Hingashi?

Who lives in all those castles in the far distance in Kugane?

So how are Rhalgr and Ramuh related? Which came first?

Was Zenos really so strong because he trained a lot? And did we really beat him because we could use Hydaelin's Blessing when he was Shinriyu?

Well as far as the Kami are concerned, I believe they are to the peoples of the Far East as the Twelve are to the peoples of Eorzea. That's how I interpret them anyway.

Kami sound like gods in a more classically Asian sense. Rather than gods with sweeping domains like we're used to in the West-- e.g., Zeus, the God of Thunder and the Firmament; Poseidon, the God of the Sea; and Jeff, the God of Biscuits --most kami probably have smaller domains. Like the little god of the (one particular) hot spring, the little god of grandfather's armor, the little god of the bridge over the canal down the street.

This interpretation is most supported by the Kojin's drive to collect and enshrine treasures, believing that the little gods in the things they find will grant them favor.

That's not to say that every little thing necessarily has a little god governing it, but important things like people's homes, their favorite tools, and roads traveled often by many people probably have their own little gods.

Dalmasca and Rabanastre by extension aren't in Othard. They're still further west of The Burn, that giant cratered section on the map.

Kami are spirits that inhabit things and/or places. The Kami of a hotspring might imbue it with healing properties, the Kami of a sword might make it's wielder stronger. At least, these are the beliefs. It's like the Twelve in Eorzea, really.

Who lives in all those castles in the far distance in Kugane?
    The nobility of Kugane, presumably.

Lore book had some confusing, possibly self-contradictory info on that, but the most recent and authoritative statement on Dalmasca and Rabanastre, from the Royal City of Rabanastre questline itself, places Dalmasca as most definitely to the south of Nagxia. That means it's at the south-eastern tip of Othard. The lands of Dalmasca itself may extend further westward into the continent, which would help explain some of the wording in the lore book.

But yeah, Rabanastre's definitively in Othard - South-east of the Burn, not West of it.

This is most detailed map translation I've searched for. Is there more detailed one from the lorebook that includes ancient lore places?

I don't think old places are listed. Mostly because they are no longer there. And also there is much overlap. Technically everything underground in the Black Shroud is Gelmorra. Including the Palace of the Dead.

So Imagine the map: Here is the Black Shroud, also known as the Twelveswood which covers the area ruled over by the City State of Gridania right above the now abandoned subterrean kingdom of Gelmorra. Too much labels for a single spot.

On that map, I'm still firmly in the camp that it's The Drown, not The Crown. It looks more like the D in Mor Dhona than the C in Coerthas.

    Yes they are

Yes, but that doesnt really explain how real they were in the Kojin beast tribe quests. Especially the finalee when the WoL got some serious buffs from them.

    The nobility of Kugane, presumably.
Shouldn't they live in Kugane castle? And why are there so many nobles in a port city that isn't even the capital?

True, but I am sure it will happen eventually. Probably not till 5.0 is near its end, but it will happen.
