My Analysis of BLM's issues and why it is currently the worst DPS class.

Frankly we can expect potency buffs or spellcast reduction since they said they are gonna do just that also they mentioned usability which can be anything, but expecting a whole ovehaul is essentially asking someone to be disappointed.

Put it this way, potency buffs would be more than what I expect from SE given Yoshi-P's last comment:

Tbh that is a bit of a nitpick because he said dps alone which probably means personal only and it isn't really false, I mean if BLM did had some raid utility it could work even with current numbers not to mention he is still good enough to clear the content, the problem is that opther jobs are better one way or the other.

y'all are dumb. forced movement mechanic? use triplecast. getting knocked away and fear losing enochian?? pop transpose while you still can. need to go somewhere??? so does your party member AND you can teleport to him. don't have raid buffs???? DO MORE DMG SCRUB. it's not hard to always be top dps by a mile as blm. following my quick guide up here ^^^^^ you can do enough dmg to more than justify you being there. no res? your teammate shouldn't have died to that mechanic anyways.

right, we're getting a potency buff, procs are gonna be slightly better, and 20seconds cut off on AM. most blms are garbage, but us good ones are typically significantly higher than the group in raw dps in everything other than o4s and ucob. you ever phase exdeath at 7k dps?

i typically smn for o4s and don't have great logs for that, but literally every other fight caters to blm's triplecast timer.

I can understand the "BLM is still playable and isn't literally broken" but the issue is that it is (and has been) the bottom of the barrel for dps since mid 3.x. Sure, it is better than not taking anyone, but there is literally no other class that would be worse to take into content at the moment. Literally every other class does more effective damage in a party with the exception of RDM, which has the obvious chain raises.

If they're happy, more power to them, but it's kind of strange to come in here like some hotshot amateur, call the whole discussion stupid, literally just hours after Black Mage gets adjustments largely due to the community discussion and attention calling this thread belongs to.

I'd honestly take them more seriously if this happened four weeks ago where there could be honest discussion instead of the 'wait and see' we're currently in.

Agreed, does seem like they needed to vent or feel like they are important. I wonder (not really) how it'll be after 4.2 lands.
