I don't even see vote kicks being thrown out frequently enough for abuse of it to be brought up, to be honest. I think the last few I've seen were all... in rabanastre, unsurprisingly, due to either long AFKs or people being unnecessarily rude.
That aside, though, if you do see one which you believe was abuse of the vote kick system, report it.
Too many instances of d/cing and tactical afking (hello there 24man) have made it too useful to remove.
It also will serve as a deterrent. You remove the votekick and people will go back to afking at the entrance to soil a run over whatever disagreement. Like 2.0.
And as mentioned, votekicks have been very rare outside of afk/offline. Try fixing the constant.
It's almost always because someone disconnected. If you're getting kicked all the time that probably means there's something wrong with your attitude.
I've only been kicked from one duty while I wasn't disconnected, and that was because I had expected the queue to take much longer than it did(popped instantly, and I was on DRG). I had queued up with the intention of quickly running to the washroom while I waited, but since it popped instantly, I quickly said BRB, and came back before the second pack of mobs(this was in one of the Alexander duties - the one with Gobwalkers and wave after wave of enemies). I even said back right when I got back, helped kill those, and then we were in the main area. One person was still alive(not even a healer) so we all respawned, while they ran around like crazy trying to live(we were on second set of enemies), I said to just die so we can get on with it, and people thought I had been AFK until then. Only time that I go kicked for something like that. All other times were due to disconnects(and even then, it has only been 3-4 times total I've been kicked).
I do initiate vote kicks for refusal to participate in a duty(had tanks refuse to budge, or even help), or for people being offline for whatever reason. Other than that, since most people never talk in them, there is no vote kick ever initiated.
As a dps, Bard and Smn, my place is always behind the tank. People that run ahead and pull deserve to die and if they don't learn, they deserve the boot.

Proof? lolwut? How unreasonable are you people? Think for 5 seconds before making stupid, inane requests.
Next time you're in a group and it's failing instead of just quietly ignoring everything, wiping over and over until you disband, try to say something to help the group succeed. When you get kicked for trying to help, come back here and apologize to me.
And then you get these people who completely validate everything i'm saying, and totally destroys all your theories:
It's this kind of arrogant, staunch opinion that causes the system to get abused. If you do or say something contrary to someone like this, doesn't matter if you're right or wrong or anything, you'll get kicked by him, his buddy and the apathetic person that you all represent who isn't paying attention. Thanks for proving I'm not crazy.my place is always behind the tank. People that run ahead and pull deserve to die and if they don't learn, they deserve the boot.
So you’re basically upset because the basic expectations of most, if not all duty finders are follow the tanks lead, work together, don’t go AFK at the start of a dungeon, and don’t waste people’s time? If a party continually wipes, sometimes it is just a lack of compatibility or people don’t want to keep going with the one party member holding them back. You aren’t penalized for a vote kick. Just requeue again and learn from your mistakes.

We’re all advocating for the type of game we want to see. Mine just happens to clash with yours. I like a story driven game, where people can come together as a community, and defeat challenges based on a PVE format. I want to work together. [snip] You’re not gonna like what I say, but I’m gonna say it regardless because I want Square Enix to hear the other side.
I've only been booted once in 3 years of play.....
9 times out of 10 is an exaggeration....
If you ARE getting booted that much, it may just come down to self, or insanely bad luck. Though I place my bets on self given the comments. It has been shown differing playstyle is a reason to boot...sadly...but its not really abuse. If you don't like rolling the dice with randoms and getting kicked., run with friends.

It takes a party to vote kick. I can understand the rare cases where you are running with people that know one another and gang up on you but that's not that common. Usually someone ends up insulted, tries to kick, people like myself click no and life goes on. I can't help but imagine this is a personal issue for OP and perhaps there's a need to look at what actions, behavior or words exchanged that are leading to getting vote kicked so frequently.
