>.< It was said jokingly, I even said it's not pvp in my own post if you go to the next sentence (I know what the letters stand for) and prefaced it by saying it's a bad idea. In another universe somebody might have jokingly replied with 'hey it's not much of a change, pvp is already full of bots!' Or people can be hostile and get praised for it o.o

I wouldn't worry, I'm fairly incapable of being hostile :P As it was a joke though, I'm glad I didn't go the alternative route of going in length as to why I'd disagree with it lol.
Back to lack of direct pvp though, RW was disappointing purely because it offered so much yet delivered so little![]()
Pretty sure it wasn't meant in a hostile manner, but DO understand that PvP in this game has gradually moved further and further away from direct player vs player competition. It was the foundation of what was wrong with Shatter when you could play passively, do nothing but hit the ice, and win. Slaughter (Team Deathmatch) was removed with no explanation after being left dead at 50 all through HW, and even direct player combat means little in Rival Wings.
Your idea isn't bad, to be fair. But it wouldn't really solve the problems we have currently. Still, I'm sure it wasn't meant in hostility, and shouldn't be taken as such.

Heh. I was actually close to typing that >_>'
The saving grace for any team without healers, because you are so disadvantaged at player combat that showing up at all usually just ends the misery quicker and hands whatever team you end up feeding the game. With exceedingly rare exceptions of course.
I'm not gonna derail the topic with another rant on my pet peeve here, no worries, I'm just noting that certain tuning decisions might make people ill inclined to bother with actual player interaction and develop preferences for less player interaction.
Another factor to consider is: Feast already provides direct PvP. They might consider other PvP modes with a strong direct player combat focus redundant - They didn't just remove slaughter, they also removed Wolves Den after all (Did people even notice?). It's quite possible they simply want to funnel you into Feast if you just want to fight players and keep the other modes for different preferences. Doubly so since Feast seems to be the mode they care about the most (for better or worse).
I considered that as I responded, but I opted to just keep it inside.

PvP is the only thing lacking in this game atm, Please fix the PvP Que times Yoshi![]()

They removed wolves den - but Feasting Grounds remained and Lichenweed was added. Wolves Den was largely made redundant with the newer feast maps, in fact we still refer to feast maps as Wolves Den in general because we didn't really lose much.
Slaughter on the other hand was a different scenario entirely. In terms of proper PvP in what felt like a relatively low pressure environment - that was as good as it gets. Feast is not a good entry point for people wanting to try PvP - I know it doesn't feel like it to us; but it's quite a serious game mode.
Feast 8v8 was very popular once people started to realize in season 1 how bad ranked was. A lot of people did it to get their fenrir pup and mount, since then you had a decent balance of killing and not needing to be perfect at your role to participate. The whole point of 8v8 was to be a low pressure training mode/fun mode. They removed wolves den - but Feasting Grounds remained and Lichenweed was added. Wolfs den was crap. I mean who designs a pvp mode with no respawns? You could lose the game in 30 seconds because the other team focused your healer down, and that was it. It died because it was not fun at all, even though it was much more survivable than Feast; I think the devs looked at FFXI ballista (which ironically had level 30 caps in some of them too) ad just threw the level cap in.

I can tell you: WoW.
Their Arenas are just that. And they based the majority of their so called competitive PvP on that to boot. Considering how much they looked at WoW during the rebuilding of FFXIV and how successful WoW made it look, I'm inclined to think that was their inspiration, with Morale being an attempt to mimic Resilience.
