Feedback for Gm Rhinedynast

Had an experience in Shinryu story.

I join in prog on my alt which I just levelled to 70. As I enter, I see the party is missing a tank and a DPS. While we wait, a rdm joins who proceeds to pull the boss. We are still waiting for the party to fill so no one does anything and we wipe. No big deal.
However, they proceed to do it again and again. I asked them politely to stop so we don't end up having people with broken gear when the party finally fills. Of course I am ignored, and they continue to pull and we wipe.

Finally the party fills, and you'd think that would be the end of their fun, but nope. They pull immediately. No one is ready, and we wipe. The WHM asks for a moment to put lucid back on her cross class but the rdm denies this by immediately pulling again. To make matters worse, they start taunting the WHM. Saying they're bad and shouldn't need Lucid.

To make it even worse, this rdm is a Mentor and there are several sprouts in the party. One party member mentions they have a mentor crown, and should act the part. They respond by saying they are, and calling people babies for not preparing fast enough.

Well I finally managed to get the vote dismiss in before they pulled, and they were booted. I made a report, and encouraged others to do the same. I was contacted by Gm Rhinedynast very quickly, and they asked me to walk them through what happened, so I did with the same story I just recounted.

Gm Rhinedynast was very polite and apologetic about the whole incident, even though such players certainly don't reflect poorly on them, or the GM team in general. It's actually a very rare experience to run into such a player for me.

So thanks again to Gm Rhinedynast for being prompt to respond and very polite and kind!

I half expect to read a complaint about a GM, it's so very rare someone goes out of their way to give praise. It's always nice to see positive feedback, even if it comes in light of a bad situation!
Hope that red mage get's what's coming to him!

Given all the crap that GM's receive it's nice to see them being honored every once in awhile. I'm glad they jumped in immediately to handle the situation. ^^

Yeah, it's unfortunate that people generally feel the need to make a thread or give feedback when it's a negative experience they've had.

I've only had to contact the GM team 3 or 4 times since I've started playing, and each time they've been as helpful as they could, and super polite.

I'm not gonna lie, I've never felt the need to bother GMs with player disputes. I've never contacted the GM team over anything like that, honestly. It is good to see that someone had a good experience with a GM in FF14, because my experiences with the GMs of other MMOs have never been pleasant affairs. Good job GM Rhinedynast!

I honestly expected this to be a complaint about GM behaviour, so consider me pleasantly surprised for being wrong.

Crossing my fingers that RDM gets what is comming to them, since speaking as a Mentor myself (although I've all but effectively surrendered the status voluntarely), he or she is the type of person making us all look bad just because they wanted the crown to feel superior, instead of actually helping other players :/

I really hope so, too. I told my friend about it and she also had a bad experience with them. Turns out they're from our server, and a douche in general. Let's hope they've been reported in the past for harassment.

Agreed about the mentor status. I stopped wearing the crown some time ago due to the negative connotations associated with just the word mentor in this game. That's okay though, we don't need a crown to be helpful to others.
