Because the more they ramp up the hype on something, the more of a PR disaster it becomes when it ultimately crashes and burns. There's also factoring in how Diadem got forced out, crashed and burned, and wasn't until 3.5x for it to be properly re-released as something half-decent.

Then between the kinda shaky start for SB, all the content from 4.0x and 4.1, the holidays and the slew of stuff they're going to throw at us for 4.2 next month, I personally don't mind waiting for Eureka if it means not having a Diadem launch.

The double-edged sword with secrecy is that people don’t know what to expect, so they either assume Diadem 3.0, or assume it’s going to be astounding. And I know, I know, “Don’t have any expectations and you won’t be disappointed”, but people out there have them. Can’t really change that. And both potentially spell disaster: Diadem 3.0 > low hopes for the content; Super Awesome Eureka > disappointment if it crashes and burns.

But, the more they continue to delay Eureka, and the less they tell anyone about it (other than how awesome and never-before-seen it’s supposed to be), the more people are going to get incredibly frustrated over it. So much so that, when it does come out, if it doesn’t absolutely blow people away, they will pick and pick until they dig up every fault with the content. No matter how small.

There's also factoring in how Diadem got forced out, crashed and burned, and wasn't until 3.5x for it to be properly re-released as something half-decent.
I can only hope the developers learned a lot from Diadem, 1.0 and 2.0. Neither were that great; 2.0 died nearly as quickly as 1.0 did once people got in there, did the EM a few times, and got the goodies. More interest was shown in Trials of the Matron, because it was a gatherer’s paradise when it came to scrips and old ARR timed nodes.

Just...I really hope Eureka isn’t full of FATEs. That’s the main thing I want: no FATEs. Please.

    Now that I'll agree on.

Personally, I have just stopped caring about Eureka because they have given me absolutely no reason to. I wager people would be somewhat satisfied with small updates. Show us what it looks like, an idea of what we'll be doing or explain why there have been frequent delays. Just a little form of transparency will go a long way for most people. The worst to happen is general apathy. Once people reach that stage, it becomes increasingly harder to win them back. I honestly see people unsubbing if Eureka flops. And not a low number either. They've done so little hyping it that anything short of amazing just isn't going to resonate well.

To be fair, 4.1 feels so lackluster because they focused virtually all their attention on niche content. Had they dropped any one of Perform, Rival Wings or Ultimate and said something along the lines of, "We apologize, but the vision we had for Eureka simply has a much larger scope than we anticipated. So we'll be releasing the initial relic step separately." I suspect people would be far less frustrated.

I understand not wanting to do mindless grinding just for achievements, I feel like leveling classes is a different thing because there's story content attached to it. Each one has its own unique quests and characters that adds a little more to the world of the game.

I realise not everyone cares about the story so much, but I'd feel like only leveling the one class would be missing out on a lot of game content.
