It's already built at this point. Adding more (already existing) dungeons into the list is not a lot of development effort. Besides, I find them kind of fun when I want to bang out a quick dungeon for XP and don't want to sit in the 20 minute DPS queue.

I only invested in them for the sake of the emote rewards. I haven't touched them since.
I like command missions for leveling other class/jobs when I have a really big rested bar. It's a lot of experience, fast, and I don't mind ordering the squads around. If I also have WT Dungeon 1-49, then I get to level while also doing my WT in an easy and familiar setting. I just view it less as me doing the work and more like me being a strategist for them or both, depends on the role I'm going in as.
If I go in as a DPS, on Halatali for example, I view myself as primarily the strategist and secondarily as a party member, especially for the last boss because if I don't micromanage them that tank just goes after the boss and stands in the fire, but by disengage, engage Fire Sprite, disengage as soon as it's dead until I pick the next Fire Sprite, it's more like being a tactician, which I enjoy.
To that end I wish we had more variety of squadron orders, or the ability to order individual members (a "heal me dammit" order while being a tank would be nice)
I'd like for them to have more dungeons because it's also a good way to practice skills on a new/less-used job without having to ask friends to spend their valuable time on a learning party. I'm trying to build up the courage to tank and it would help if I could practice more dungeons there.

As a PS4 player I found the command bar annoying... until I found all the skills in Action's menu promtly hid it & add the skill to the cross-bar (annoying I have to enter the action's menu every time I enter just to re-hide it but its a "1 & done" thing so meh). That said it does get grindy & dull but so would grinding any dungeon for xp, only reason I used it a 2nd time after getting emotes was to lv SMN (as I sucked as SCH) to lv50-51.
What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau
I've been using them to satisfy the WT low level dungeon tasks. While it takes a bit longer than soloing it isn't that big of a difference and is a nice change of pace.
A great way to level up new jobs, but my god the AI is atrocious. THMs dropping ice/fire constantly by casting random spells, melee jobs missing like 3 GCDs because they worry about trying to get positionals in too hard, healers casting damage spells until you're under 50%, it just really sours the whole experience. I love the idea, but when I see my MNK cast invigorate, second wind, bloodbath, internal release, diversion, all in a row without throwing out any damage it makes me wanna scream.
My point is, it was a waste of development resources to make squadrons a thing in the first place. We get so much useless content in this game lately its not even funny.
From a alternative leveling perspective, they could have just made certain dungeons soloable. by scaling down the instance, if it was really felt necessary.
The game always needs to find new ways to do things to avoid staleness and to help with queues. If you are an officer, you should have a usable squad for immersion purposes. They haven't done anything with GC for a long while. Something was due. It can be improved from there. My point is, it was a waste of development resources to make squadrons a thing in the first place. We get so much useless content in this game lately its not even funny.

PvP ideas, Diadem... lessons need to be learned and things should and can be altered where needed. They started to address staleness in FATES/ open world but not enough just yet.
How do you hide it? I have to close it every run.As a PS4 player I found the command bar annoying... until I found all the skills in Action's menu promtly hid it & add the skill to the cross-bar (annoying I have to enter the action's menu every time I enter just to re-hide it but its a "1 & done" thing so meh).
