If you genuinely feel that expecting DPS jobs to do more DPS than a Tank in an encounter that's pretty much an ~eight minute target dummy is in anyway elitist or even just unfair then frankly I have no words for you.

At the end of the day, this is a team game and in proper raid content I'd like to think that players are obligated to at least put a baseline amount of effort into performing at a reasonable standard.

Because poor DPS shouldn't be held accountable for their poor DPS, but the second a healer or tank screw up, it's time to tar and feather them for not "playing their job properly"?

Report them. They're not allowed to talk about parser in game, specially if it is used to harass others. Also, I think is a bit worrying a tank more concern about DPS than tanking.

The best way to stop that is not having any mercy with that people.

If you had read the thread, you would have come across the posts of the WAR and the AST in that group who both said nothing was mentioned about parsers or DPS numbers. That being said, I ask again why are DPS roles not allowed to be held accountable for their poor performance, but tanks and healers are crucified the minute they make a mistake?

I don't mind being held accountable for my own dps, but when people start talking about their parse numbers, my brain shuts off. I feel like parsing is just a way to micromanage. I have no issues with people getting their props for doing well, or ejecting a scrub from their midst who is just wants a free ride but I feel that it takes away from the actual point of the duty, which is to kill what you're aiming at. Parsing should be a point of pride, not a necessity or mandate.

If I feel I'm not performing to the group's needs then I'll leave of my own volition. However, I'm used to pug groups and getting through content with what's available no matter what (cause I'm not losing my Roulette to a rage quit--ain't nobody got time for that). I'm glad that I have no interest in the High-End duties because it seems like that's about to become an exclusive club.

So you are saying that kicking players for poor performance is reportable, meanwhile, there are players that SE are aware of using a Ruin 4 hack or speedhacks that are still not banned.

You can kick poor players from parties just fine (it's considered "Differences in Playstyle", even though there's no actual option like that when vote-kicking), you just can't say it in a rude or obnoxious way.

O2S run going very well, despite a mistake from a tank that did get all dps killed we completed this way before the enrage.

Warrior of the group who was all the time talking about his precious dps and fflogs getting the faulty tank kicked, as well as 3 dps because "shit the rest of you".

Like, that isn't hard to grasp. The people that would be rude with parsers, ALREADY are being rude with parsers. The difference is that we could have always accurate information with a SE supported parser.

Also, still casual mention to AST maximize you do need to parse. If my card isn't expanded for dps, how do I know if the NIN is doing more than the SAM? Who gets this card? Time to stare at their animations to see who's doing better.

The thing about parsing is that you can see more than DPS.
You can see who died, to what, from what. You can see what's casting on who and who's taking what damage.

If you're looking to blame someone you can see more than just dps numbers. I don't think the tank was entirely in the wrong in regards to this topic.
