    Big issue with the authentificator

    Hi there !

    Celef posting with bae's account because I have a *** issue with the authentificator and can't log anymore.

    Although my authetificator is active and I did not change anything to it, suddenly, Mog station and the laucher won't accept the one time password. The issue seems to come from my authetificator software considering I have a time difference between the server and the soft oO
    (Saw this in the "show serial number section of the soft)
    It seems I have -809 seconds.
    I did synchronise but yet, the difference is still here. I tried to turn of my phone, did not change anything.
    Can't be sure the issue is that time difference but bae's authetificator does not have it.

    Of course I did contact SE but considering they won't open till Tuesday......and, of course, I did not keep my emergency code......

    Did anyone ever encounter this issue and was able to solve it without SE's assistance ?

    This is weird, but I have had this issue before. I only was able to fix it by removing it with the code you sadly don't have. I know their customer support can help you as well, but yeah... they won't be available either. Do you still have the registration code in your main, trying to delete the app and re-register it again with it? I don't know if they are one-time use. Have you tried adjusting the time in your phone too?

    Deleting the app will desync it and you may not be able to add it again at all without the emergency code. I couldn't.

    I'd suggest checking your phone time to make sure it's correct. That is a huge drift and shouldn't happen unless the phone time is way off. Normally phones get their time from the network, but something may be wrong in this case. You can compare to a site like https://www.time.gov/ , which is run by the US government and comes from one of the core NTP servers (which get their time from an atomic clock). It will be accurate enough for this purpose.

    I know they e-mail out an emergency removal code every few months or remind you of such. You should check past e-mails to see what yours is cause it seems that is the only way to fix the issue at the moment.

    this post here is wrong they do NOT EVER e-mail out the emergency removal code. They only put out a notice reminding people of the use of the authenticator whenever it gets close to a big new phone operating system or model about to come out.

    I can confirm this. Emailing your removal code is just bad security practice as it is.

    Yeah, as far as I know the code to remove the token is INSIDE the SE account. The only code they mail you is the one you need to use to sync the authenticator with their servers.

    Makes sense, I remember having the emergency code to remove it from my profile and re-register myself.

    I think the only option so far is try and contact the support. ; ; And ask why the hell that happened if what Tridus said didn't work.

    Well, the difference between the server and the soft is gone, but mog station and launcher still refuses the one time password.

    Ouch. Then unless it's your password that is wrong, you'll need to wait for support. The emergency password is the only way to fix this without support's help.
